I’m so hot i feel like i’ve ran a 5k marathon!! honestly could overlocker be anymore fiddly to thread?!? I thought to myself “it’s a new machine, learn how to thread it from the start” stupid stupid idea. Taken me an hour and a half! THANK YOU Abi! the only clear tutorial on how to thread my new machine! 👏👏👏
If you need any more help just shout. This is a fiddly machine to thread but I’ve never heard it compared to a 5k, haha! But well done 💪🏽💪🏽 now unthread it and do it again! Thread it 3 more times until you don’t need to check the instructions. You’ll be glad you did x
@@AbisDen Great idea, i’ll be able to do it with my eyes closed! Definitely not easy to thread the first time, but got to say i’m loving it. Thank you Abi i will do ♥️
Hi Abi, you have just saved me from going insane and chucking my overlocker out the window, which would be a shame as ive always wanted one and finally have it! The official video on this was so confusing with the green thread, im so glad I gave up on it and found yours, its was so clear. Thank you! 😊
It's been 12 years since my 9200D has been in use, at some point it seized up. Just got it back from a service. I used to run through this process so quickly, but I was baffled. Doesn't help that I didn't need reading glasses back then. Thanks for this video, so helpful.
Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial. I was confused by the manual and agree that Janome should provide the tools that they use in the manual. Your instructions are so clear and concise. 🙏
Just wanted to say thank you so much. I have a new 9300DX and the lower looper came unthreaded and despite the instructions I couldn't get it to overlock correctly. Rethreaded all of it as per your vlog and hey presto it's working. Thanks again 😊
Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I spent 2 hours this morning trying to rethread the lower loop after a needle broke on a 3 minute job. The instruction manual isn’t easy to navigate and the information you gave about the threader (which is very confusing in the manual when you don’t know what they are talking about!) really helped to demystify the pictures on page 32. Also, following your tutorial I realised the order of threading is important as I had rethreaded the lower loop correctly, but couldn’t understand why the thread broke each time I started using it. Thank you also for explaining about how much easier it is to thread when you lower the blade and remove the foot. I really am so grateful to you for this video and for helping me to understand my machine!
This was a fantastic video. You are right , the directions that come with it are so confusing . Taking the foot off and disengaging the knife was so helpful. I have the Mod 8933 and like someone else said, it’s almost identical to the one in your video. I was able to do it right the first time. Thank you so much.
Well done, I have watched the official website for threading the Janome overlocker without being told of the second eye to thread through from left to right, for the "green" information. You made it so clear and suddenly it became so obvious what I was doing incorrectly. Brilliant, please take a bow! Thank you very much. Rita
Thank you Abi after spending 4 hours and breaking two needles trying to find the guide I came to TH-cam and found your video , you literally saved my sanity. Thank you
Hi Abi, can't thank you enough for making this fantastic vlog. I always struggle to thread my janome, so frustrating!! I sat for 3 hours with the instruction book, and could not get the machine to stitch properly. You are right, the instructions are not as clear as they could be. But your vlog was just so clear and informative, thank you so much. You have saved me a fortune as I was ready to take the machine to my local Janome agent!!
Hi Abbi, I was given my Janome without instructions, you won't believe how long it has taken me to learn how to thread this machine and work out how this machine works. Thank you so much for adding the link for the instuctions. Keep up with the great Tutorials.
THANK YOU!!! I have been too scared to re-thread this overlocker for a year! You have made it so simple that I feel rather foolish for putting it off for so long. Thanks so much! x
Thank you so much. I had been sitting swearing at my overlocker for 40 mins before watching your video, and as soon as I watched it, I could thread my machine!
Phew! I unpacked my overlocker today, and knotted new threads on as per the instructions and nearly wept when it didn’t work. Your video saved the day. Thank you so much!
I will be forever grateful for this video, its my 'go to' whenever i have to re-thread my overlocker which thankfully is not too often. Thank you xxxxx
thank you, thank you, thank you...............Soooooooooooo much! I have struggled to re-thread my 9200D overlocker and consequently have not used it for a long, long time. Came across your instruction video which is so good to follow.
Thank you very much. I bought this dreaded machine at the beginning of lockdown; Mar/Apr. When I saw the instructions I knew that it would be trouble. So, for the 1st few occasions that I used it, I tied my threads to the one that came with it until luck ran out. Then today I had to thread it. Overlockers are fiddly to thread most of the time, but this one takes it to another level. Brother; at anytime. As soon as CV19 packs its bags and go, I shall go and service my old reliable Brother of 15 years. Brother; the best at anytime. Thanks once again.
I'm so glad I found your video again. You helped me a while back when I first got my serger and I messed it up trying to retread. This video is so good! Thanks for posting it.
After trying for 2 days...a couple of hours each, I got it! The lower looper is tough! I could see from my stitches that it was the trouble maker! Your video is a life saver!!!! It's very clear and easy to follow. I'm very new to sewing and just got my serger (Mod-8933). So glad your model was almost identical! I was tempted to get the Brother model bc of is popularity but this model was rated a little higher and for longevity, the better machine. So glad I purchased this one as everything has a learning curve. 😊
Thank you so much for this! I have not used my overlocker for over 10 months as it needed to be re-threaded and the manual is not great. Your video is so helpful and I managed to get it threaded and up and running.
Thank you!!! Your instructions were great! I didn't know how to move the cutting knife.nor how to lift the sewing foot. I will be checking in again. This is my first Janome.
Thank you for a lovely clear demo. I just couldn't get the last step of the lower looper. I watched another demo first but I was none the wiser. I am going great guns now.
Hi Abi, thank you very much for the very very helpful and detailed instruction for threading on a Janome Overlocker, with all your help I got to finish threading my overclocker and it is working wonderfully! I am so happy and so grateful for your tutorial!

Fantastic video, making scrubs and tried to change colour thread and accidentally pulled old thread right out, after a time, nearly giving up, I decided to use utube. I have done it now. Fantastic. Xx
It really does get easier and quicker the more you use it. I wish I hadn't got rid of my 9200d, it's stronger and more sturdier than the easier- to- thread replacement I got.
Thanks for great video. I am able to thread the hidden guides for the lower looper reasonably well, but frequently have an issue with one or both loopers coming unthreaded once I run with the new thread. Is there a specific way that the lower looper thread has to go in relation to the upper looper thread as this is all I can think, but I do thread in the correct order and pull the first thread under the foot and to the left side before threading the upper looper? Thanks.
Hey Judith. When you thread the machine, be sure to make sure all threads are coming through freely and not entangled with each other. That should hopefully be all that’s needed
Hi Abi! Thanks so much for the tutorial. For some reason my lower looper on this machine keeps coming unthreaded and I don’t know what to do 😭 have you got any tips?
💕 Clean the machine and thread it in the correct order. The lower looper thread should be through all of the guides properly and securely or they slip out easily and unthread the machine. 👍🏽

Amazing. Thank you. With towels on machines, just take care to not let the fabric ravel so I would sit just before you’re ready to sew and handle with care. Tensions don’t need altering too much but you will find curves (armholes) may be trickier to sew so feed them into the machine carefully
