      @@LearnSomatics I mean my various PTs, chiros, feldenkrais and Hanna somatics helpers are always pointing out how my low back is arched too much and I should pay attention to trying to bring my "ribs down" so that there is a healthier curve in the low back and not so much of a "chest forward" posture. It's a really hard habit to break. I tend to sit at my work desk with an arched low back/head back posture. Also shows up in walking. I hope that helps explain

    I am into somatics for quite some time and I was always wondering: if I know which muscle or group of muscles should be released, I could create my own exercise? Or somatic exercises are always the same? I know I need to respect the principle of conscious contraction and relaxation of the muscle. Thanks

    • @LearnSomatics
      @LearnSomatics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can pretty much make up exercises if you know the muscle group or movement pattern you want to address. The standard Somatic exercises cover the entire body and address specific reflexes common to everyone. Which is why they're so effective.

    Hello Colm, my name is Ross Perovic. I have what I’ve learned from my physician to be Haglunds Syndrome or Haglunds Deformity. This is happening on my right heel where I have a painful bump where my upper heel bone rubs or presses against my tendons connecting the Achilles and fascia tendons. It’s obviously painful when I walk especially up a hill. Or, in the mornings when I wake up and walk downstairs. I experience pain around the heel and all around the ankle at it base of the heel. I work in a steel factory 8 hours each day 5 days a week in steel toe boots. I’ve had this problem before but not as bad. This time it flared up pretty good, maybe it was the new boots I’ve worn over the last two months, I don’t know. I’ve done some of your somatic exercises and they help, however could you help me further? Could you provide me with some more exercises, I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much! Ross Perovic.

    So exercising only calf is not the complete treatment for fasciitis?

    • @LearnSomatics
      @LearnSomatics  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Correct, your body is a fully integrated system, you can't just focus on one area. You must address it within the context of the entire system. In Somatics we work from the centre outwards. Addressing the trunk first, then moving to peripheral areas, this is much more effective. Did you try these movements? Let me know how you got on. Thanks for watching.🙏

  • @cinmac3
    @cinmac3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I liked what this move, but, I don't like that need to do the other side, it sound like it would include both sidesj when you mentioned the trunk.

      Plantar fasciitis usually presents in one side only, so only one side is demonstrated.

    where is my focus should be ifi have pain under my big toe .
    I would think the whole foot not just "planter fasciatis"....would i do uneven legs, twisteded pelvis,pain more in my right foot tensions on the left side of the body, shoulder, waist, hips.
