20 more cuts and you've got homemade particle board! 👍

Given that it all started from scrap, no matter how much "waste" you end up having, it is still less than where you started. They look beautiful.

Five years later, the cutting board is now 87% glue, 12% wood, and 1% sweat.

The day will come when Matt builds his own trees.
Another thing I really like is those early offcuts from the ends of glued strips. The random lengths, widths and colours suggest skyscraper skylines and with a simple finish would make unusual decorative pieces.

Now they look nice, but if you get carried away too much you'l end up making artisan OSB, than particle board and finaly MDF . cheers.

Hey Matt! Thanks for this video! I'm doing something similar but my lack of tools is somewhat limiting my end result. I only have a router with a 1/4 shank and a 3/4 bit so planing the slab is a bit difficult, as I was doing that it kinda bit into the wood (my fault for not finding the highest spot and starting from there, I know) and it made a huge dent on the blank, I'm very frustrated. I love the fact that while you obviously have all the tools, you still take time to show different processes and achieve the same results by various methods, that shows true respect for the craftsmanship and your audience. Kudos for that, I love your channel! thanks and I can't wait for the next video.

Nice project. Years ago I funded all my disposables from cutting boards that my ex wife sold at her work.
O n a different note the Covid stimulus money allowed me to make a few shop upgrades. I replaced the 3 1/2hp router that grew legs during the move and got the largest lathe chuck I could get, the Vickmark 150 and upgraded the small air compressor I had with a 60 gal 2 stage upright compressor so I will be able to have airlines throughout the shop and regulated at different pressures such as 40 lbs for finish spraying, 90 lbs to hook up to my lathe for the built in air nozzle and vacumn chuck and several more at 120 lbs for air nailing and staples and general blowing out the debris. Not without a glitch the compressor switch box was faulty so today I am taking the switch off and exchanging it for a new one so up and running very soon.

Matt, I just told my wife of a table top/Counter that I had cut and glued together long ago when wood glue was powder form that you mixed with water. Good stuff but it had to be mixed just right for it to work. Well, while moving the glued up/clamped project I dropped it and the project became hundreds of smaller parts.
