I would love to see more composition videos. I think that looking at some famous paintings and discussing what their composition is would be very helpful. For myself, I can never recognize leading lines out in the wild. However, this video was great, thanks for making it.

Hi Michael, I was planning doing this once gallery’s open. Hopefully it won’t be too long. In the rural landscape, look for tree lines, rivers and divides of fields, these are just some of the leading lines to look at going into the distance in the landscape. 👍🏻

I would like to know more about sophisticated compositional schemes with examples. Everybody talks about the s curve. But I’d like to see examples of other things like “steelyard”, “cross”, “radiating lines”, etc, and more ways to arrange objects to make an interesting composition. I’d like to see examples in real paintings. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Tom: I’m wondering if you could show how to design a painting by using golden ratio (rather than just showing it laid over top of an already existing painting. I can see how it is done afterwards, but it is the thinking process of how to lay it out for say, a portrait or still life, etc.

I've been showing your videos to my students in Australia. They love your techniques and your accent 😁 ( I was born in the UK and spent my early teenage years there. So, while my accent is generally Australian, I can bring on a "broad Yorkshire" on request). I would really like to see some more videos on the golden ratio. I'd also love to see if you could do some of your planning pages on a contemporary Australian artist if it's not too much to ask.

    Hello Mr. Quigley!
I've recommended you in a couple of the art groups I'm involved with. Excellent content here!
Personally, I'm a mixed media artist (using that term loosely 😉), and always looking for ways to repurpose every day materials in interesting ways.
Doing collage, I struggle with covering up layers that I worked to make visually appealing. Most youtube artists don't seem to have this apprehension. Perhaps you could teach us how to create layers without destroying the integrity of our backgrounds.
    Thank you!
    ~Mary

It would be amazing if you could discuss in more detail or demonstrate the golden ratio and leading lines compositional techniques. Well you did ask what we’d like to see more of! 😝 BTW loving the colour palette in your paintings👌🏻
