  • **New 2022 video: • Why invest in forestry... **
**Experienced investors only. Family offices, pension funds - even the Church of England - have been investing in the UK forestry sector for years, and experienced investors are increasingly drawn to it. Who typically invests in forestry, and why? What is behind the sector’s very strong performance over the last ten years? What happened to forestry during the last recession? How risky is it? What sort of tax benefits do investors get? What are the minimum levels of investment, and how do actually go about it? Joining Alex Davies, founder of Wealth Club, are two respected forestry investors - Anthony Crosbie Dawson of Gresham House, and Paul Atkinson of Par Equity - to provide expert points of view. Should experienced investors put their money into forestry? Watch the panel discussion to find out…

You could get back less than you invest. Tax rules can change and tax benefits depend on your circumstances. If you’re unsure an investment is right for you, please seek professional advice.

Vampires, They would invest in anything that makes them money. My family are 32 years (Yes, 32 full years) invested in our piece of Forestry from initial planning, through permission, through planting, through initial pruning, yearly maintenance for "30 YEARS". That is 30 years of walking many acres of forest. 30 years of spotting the good and issues that need attention.
We did the planting ourselves, but we are rare that way.We have good advisers in terms of tree health but we are on our own in terms or where this crop ends up. All I am saying is for anybody, anywhere( we are in Ireland) with a hard earned crop, don't get shafted by smiling boys who would not line out for real work.Don't be Soft, be a Man.

I fully agree. As a retired timber worker, I found myself getting more and more angry at these three chinless wonders exploiting the hard graft of men that invested their sweat equity in the land. To us, it was a way of life, and a love of managing nature, but to these vampires, it's just money, money, money.
