Great Overview, I finally understood the difference between regular programming and Objective Programming. I plan to buy your book if the next videos are this clear.
@Robtehscot Right now just this one, since I am focusing on creating new lessons, but it is not out of the question that I may remake other lessons down the road.
@TheAdam715 I take it you haven't heard of cross-platform third party SDK tools, or virtualisation of operating systems. Even Mac OSX can use virtualisation tools for Windows, Linux, et al.
HI- I am a new developer and need a job!!!! I need to learn quickly and have been studying like crazy- I'm radically switching careers and need to know if you have the latest Xcode tutorials up? thanks for this video... i'm on to the next one!
hey will this tutorial be usefull for me cuz i am using windows 7...and if its useful for me then can i use miracle c as xcode is not available for windows...but your videos are awesome!!!
VMware Workstation, PC with Hardware virtualization and OSX. Took me 2 hours to get running with OSX Mountain Lion on my PC. I have a MAC air but I want to code on my PC so this was the cheapest solution.
I started with android programming and decided I should see what was on the other side of the developer fence. However with all these fees I can't seem to quite get over that fence. Android development is free and works on all platforms with the latest updates. To put your app on the market it's a one time 25 dollar developer fee. Apple is really not making me feel welcome.
the lastest xcode requires lion, and cannot get xcode 4 anymore from apple. one solution is that there are versions of 4 on the torrents. otherwise upgrade to lion!
Get a VM and then get mac os x run it on your windows install everything there, but seriously buy a mac eventually if you really want to program for apple
samuel becket, ya you cant see that small of objects but why dont you try looking at a retina screen its way sharper. Apple is the future it keeps things simple and looking good unlike pc. Apple is staring to suck now but still a better company. I dont know why they added a finger print scanner on the new iphone but whatever.
don't be so naive to even think they are the same type of computer. i have both a high end pc and a macbook pro retina and they are SOO different, sure they both browse the internet and share certain programs but that really is where it stops
Search for a vid on here called "Install Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion to Windows { VMware Player }" by TheHacker0007 on how to emulate Mac OSX on your windows PC. That will save you a whole lotta money. U might also consider upgrading your pc with rams in case you dont have enough. less costly than buying an actual mac.
the fucking question was "any advice on how to get started for people on PC" and the answer is you cant because objective C is only for mac and xcode is only for mac and the whole SDK is only for mac.
lol I love all the Mac fanboys here! Macs are PCs with shitty OSs on it, repackaged and sold at 3 times the price. Also, retina! Retina is completely useless as the human eye can't even see that many pixels. Mac is a stupid company.
You better be getting paid a decent amount for these tutorials! you deserve it, you're better than my uni lecturer
Love how you explain this. Keep the good work up, you'll pull in more subscribers soon enough!
Wow, you really do well with explaining this to beginners. I'm looking forward to the next lessons.
This is perfect! Exactly what I need. I've tried reading books but its so dry! Being able to watch/listen helps a lot.
wow, impressive tutorial, never heard it explained so well, i have a feeling that i will actually be able to learn this now
Great Overview, I finally understood the difference between regular programming and Objective Programming. I plan to buy your book if the next videos are this clear.
Keep on the amazing work dude! I'm a newbie and this was extreamly useful, thanks!
you are awesome brother ! Love your effort ! keep it coming !!
finally a vid that actually teaches it.....well!! thanks and awesome quote at the end!
wow just wow not even finished the video and it is already helpful
You just earned yourself a subscriber
Very polished, I think I may start getting into coding!
@Robtehscot Right now just this one, since I am focusing on creating new lessons, but it is not out of the question that I may remake other lessons down the road.
Sweet tutorial! But i was just wondering, what movie program are you using to this tutorial?
You are a great teacher .!!!
any advice on how to get started for people on PC? thanks in advance!
@TheAdam715 I take it you haven't heard of cross-platform third party SDK tools, or virtualisation of operating systems. Even Mac OSX can use virtualisation tools for Windows, Linux, et al.
Great tutorial, subbed
HI- I am a new developer and need a job!!!! I need to learn quickly and have been studying like crazy- I'm radically switching careers and need to know if you have the latest Xcode tutorials up? thanks for this video... i'm on to the next one!
Where i can find all ur tutorials??
hey will this tutorial be usefull for me cuz i am using windows 7...and if its useful for me then can i use miracle c as xcode is not available for windows...but your videos are awesome!!!
Do you have one for 4.2 Xcode or any?
Is objective c the same thing as c++?
What programs do you need for windows?
Is there any way to write objective C on windows 7? Thanks
Eclipse is more for Java, XCode is for Objective C, which is what is used to make Mac and iPhone apps
Insteed of xcode can i use Eclipse?
VMware Workstation, PC with Hardware virtualization and OSX. Took me 2 hours to get running with OSX Mountain Lion on my PC. I have a MAC air but I want to code on my PC so this was the cheapest solution.
Nice quality video! :D
Aren't methods in OO programs equivalent to functions in procedural/structured programming?
Sort of. Objective C has explicit functions. But methods are merely functions pertaining to instances of specific classes
Is there a program similar to this for windows?
where can you find Instruments Debugger?!?(Help)
i dont have an imac so does that mean i cant program?
Great tutorial
Great video!
That's a great tutorial, thanks man for helping the useless people like me lol
Can we program in Objective C on Windows
I started with android programming and decided I should see what was on the other side of the developer fence. However with all these fees I can't seem to quite get over that fence. Android development is free and works on all platforms with the latest updates. To put your app on the market it's a one time 25 dollar developer fee. Apple is really not making me feel welcome.
man, that fits me!! thanks! :-)
i dont have a mac what is the alternate option
You may setup Mac OS on Windows using Oracle VirtualBox. There are few good tutorials on TH-cam that will show you how to do that in details.
thanks so informative
Thanks man!
Awesome thanx
Hope it's ok that I subbed before this vid. started. :D
Volume control, heard of it?
the lastest xcode requires lion, and cannot get xcode 4 anymore from apple. one solution is that there are versions of 4 on the torrents. otherwise upgrade to lion!
nice vid thanks!
thanks bro
Yay, I've learnt how to make Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich :)
Peanut butter Jelly time.... There he go, there he go... Where he at, where he at... Peanut butter Jelly!!!
Get a VM and then get mac os x run it on your windows install everything there, but seriously buy a mac eventually if you really want to program for apple
good video for beginners but there was a sound that could not let me focus on the video.
Actually, you can create apps for idevices on windows, linux,... But xcode is not supported by any os except mac os x
Hey guys i just looked up Xcode on the Mac App Store and it is now free to download
My Savior
3x price tag ??
Some ultrabooks are even more expensive than macbooks and the NEW mac pro is an extreme workbench with a justified price tag.
So what I'm getting from this is that poor windows users are just screwed..... Is there a way to make iPhone apps on windows?
just give up, man
Windows 10
is it out yet and how?
David Richardson Download a virtual machine on your windows and the latest OS x yosemite.
Your Description of OOP is a little off. better yet use the Auto Object to describe what OOP is all about.
I couldn't carry on watching, 10 minutes and I was getting soo wound up by it lol
Great :D
came to learn objective c,
learnt how to make PB&J sandwich
@Robtehscot he says...
samuel becket, ya you cant see that small of objects but why dont you try looking at a retina screen its way sharper. Apple is the future it keeps things simple and looking good unlike pc. Apple is staring to suck now but still a better company. I dont know why they added a finger print scanner on the new iphone but whatever.
Try building a Hackintosh.
*GIVES A BILLION DOLLARS BECAUSE HE SHOWS A BIBAL VERSE IN HIS TUTORIAL*
I am Roman Catholic. TY!!!
AHA AHA AHAHHAH AHAHA HAHAHAHAHA Thats funny, "GET A MAC!!!" HAHAHAHAH Brilliant!
don't be so naive to even think they are the same type of computer. i have both a high end pc and a macbook pro retina and they are SOO different, sure they both browse the internet and share certain programs but that really is where it stops
I don't see, at all, how the last quote: "all have sinned..." has anything to do with the subject at hand.
i suggest you review the differences between procedural and object oriented programming, your explanation of the differences are misleading.
This was really useful..Thanks!
Actually you can run OSX in a virtual container on Windows if you don't have the money for a mac ATM.
Build a Hackintosh!
Is the last thing i would do.
Search for a vid on here called "Install Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion to Windows { VMware Player }" by TheHacker0007 on how to emulate Mac OSX on your windows PC. That will save you a whole lotta money.

the fucking question was "any advice on how to get started for people on PC" and the answer is you cant because objective C is only for mac and xcode is only for mac and the whole SDK is only for mac.
yea except for the fact you can't download the SDK from apple.
1080p!!!
You speak just like Jon Rettinger from TechnoBuffalo, has anybody ever told you that? Haha
But I don't lie peanut butter.
@kristofarkas IT'S FREEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Lessons are awesome, but that peanut butter and jelly story was just too long.
xCode is free now!!!!
Penaut butter jelly time
stive jobs died, learning objective-c still promissing???hornestly I hope apple long live
Stop licking your lips.
+Caleb Howard Yeah, seriously. I had to stop watching because of it.
Good content. Why do you keep making noise of swallowing saliva. You can drink water or something. Very annoying.
Shut up mate
I ain't your mate.
Nope, Mac only
That's cute. Nothing like a shitty PC with a fruit sticker and a price tag roughly 3x the amount of an equivalent model.
Yeah, or apple says so.
Hahaha! You really think you need a Mac to install OSX and program in Objective-C?
BRO MACS ARE LIKE $1199
Man you really need to stop making that noise with your mouth. So annoying.
enjoy programming an iOS device then
I better get use to your voice
Objective-c = visual basic its not a great language.
no shit
You would need to be pretty stupid to pay 3 times the price for the same computer...
lol I love all the Mac fanboys here! Macs are PCs with shitty OSs on it, repackaged and sold at 3 times the price. Also, retina! Retina is completely useless as the human eye can't even see that many pixels. Mac is a stupid company.
Buy a Mac
am I the only one who is extremely annoyed with his lip smacking sounds
