Thanks 👍 so much for watching my episodes, Joe and I'm glad to hear we share a similar approach to our detecting. Really appreciate that and tell your wife I said hello. ATB Greg
Greg, great hunt, loved the service button and wheatie cents are my favorite. We dig it all, iron included, we’re not picky and enjoy finding what the earth holds. Everything does have a story. Take care and keep having fun.👍👏😀
Thanks so much you two and I think you'll definitely enjoy my new episode coming out! Lots of not-picky digging and some very cool finds. LOL :) Take care and best of luck with your digging up there! ATB Greg
That mystery item that is a ring with tabs on the ring and long shaft looks very much like a Model T Ford hood latch. There were four of them that had springs on the shaft and they pulled up and one of the tabs would catch on a lip of the hood and held it down. The spring let things flex as most things on a Model T would do.
Thanks again for the Model T ID. I've spent my years working on Mustangs and selling NOS parts but never owned a T. Appreciate the help with that one and thanks for watching! Take care and all the best, Greg
@22:15 Those buttons went on the late 30's/early 40s HBT (Herringbone Twill) uniform. The 13-star rivet buttons are commonly called "Burst of Glory" buttons. Nice find!
Hi Greg. Boy, going low and slow really paid off. My personal favorite find is the sweet little Cracker Jack toy watch. I can vaguely remember finding something very similar in a box of Cracker Jack as a child. I often wish they would put actual toys in them again. This old gramma would be in her second (or third) childhood again!!😋🤗😄
It definitely did, Judy! I miss the cool toys that Cracker Jacks used to have in them. Now, they just have some lame QR codes in the boxes. Unfortunately, lawyers and suits ended the real toys in the boxes. Thanks so much for watching this one and I have a really cool episode coming out Thursday! ATB Greg
Hi Greg , another good dig mate no idea on the mystery objects but i do like the miniature toy pocket watch /cracker jack prize and the pocket knife nice finds my friend , another top video and a good watch hope all is good with you best wishes and ATB Rob & Al .
Thanks so much Rob and Al for watching this one. It was a fun hunt out there this time and I'm glad you enjoyed watching it. Hope you're feeling better Rob and looking forward to seeing you out there with Al soon. ATB Greg
That thing at 3:58 is a segment of a 66 punch down block for a phone wiring device. There would be two rows of those punchdown terminals separated by a space that was jumpered with a small clip.
Could you imagine the smoked meat smell walking in to the store in that photo after the sausage casing end find? Had to be something! Another great detecting day with a lot of unusual but very cool finds!
Those army fatigue buttons were also used on Army one-piece overalls. I remember my Dad had a set he used for working on the car, doing repair work around the house etc.
Thanks for that info, HPR! I imagine a lot of veterans that came back had their clothes and fatigues that they wore afterwards. Glad that find brought back those memories for you! ATB Greg
Your mystery find at 12:02 is a rear axle wheel bearing cage not sure what Make or Model there’s so many that look the same. And mystery find at 13:50 is a hood hold down for a Ford Model T rather rusty one but that’s what it is.
Nice work Greg!!! I think mystery item number 2 is an old bait caster fishing reel. Also, you find railroad spikes like we find ox shoes, the things are everywhere. Me and a buddy went out Veterans Day and both dug CW general service cuff buttons, weird how that happens
It always seems to work out that way on those holidays. I also love hunting on Christmas day and New Years when I can. They seem to pay off as well. Appreciate your help with that one, Bob and thanks as always for watching! Take care and all the best, Greg
Wow, that first train photo was mind-boggling! Behemoths!---I used to play clarinet and oboe, and would agree that you found an instrument finger key.---Looking forward to seeing who can identify all those whatzits!
Those trains were some big ones and I appreciate the help with that piece. Alana. We did get all three of the Mystery Finds ID'd this week! Take care and ATB Greg
Great video Greg, lots of variety! I was wondering if you had been back to the location that used to be a Church parking area with your new machine? I really enjoy the small locations that you hunt. The everyday items are exciting to me!
Thanks Buddy and I appreciate you reminding me about that spot across from the cemetery. I went out there Friday for 5 hours with the Manticore and had a heck of a good hunt! It's going to be a fun episode this Thursday! ATB Greg
Believe that one old thing you found is a spool frame for a old levelwind reel, at least that’s what it looks like to me anyways….? But awesome finds buddy as always 🤙🏻🤙🏻
The brass piece around the 18 min mark reminds me of a part off a wind instrument like a flute maybe. Idk if they're called keys or what but just a guess
That round thing go to a water pump for the can't spell good you know what I'm talking about foot value I fond one by well at a log house it wire around it ....find wire
