🤔 Will not happen with these old-school Rolls_Royce . Because B.M.W does not even want to know about these pre German designed and built models. Don't believe ?. Well it's true......
I absolutely agree with you regarding the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. It’s a beautifully designed and crafted piece of automotive excellence. It’s a piece of timeless art on wheels . They are graceful and elegant and just to sit inside one and experience the smell and feel of it is a pleasure.
My mom has a 2009 Lincoln Town Car. The car is a bowl of jello. I love it. The seat is like a couch, and the interior completely separates the passenger from everything. After several hours on the highway, a person can get out and not feel tired. I also like minivans.
I love this video it's calm and very relaxing and I've always been a fan of older high luxury cars and here a Rolls Royce is a car you drive in during a very exclusive events some get Mercedes S-Class but a Rolls Royce is the height of luxury
As a long time 89 Bentley Turbo RL owner " The quintessential power trip" I prefer Bentley to "Drive" & Rolls-Royce "To be driven in " as Casey said. Bentleys are for "People who have won the race but don't need to wear the medal". Both fine special occasion automobiles. This is why we owners call them PMC's, Proper Motor Cars : ).
They will never be cheaper than they are right now . And remember these earlier models are really starting to age now. Meaning pre German designed and built Rolls_Royce cars...
I've been daily driving Jags for the last 10 years. You can get there fast if you want, but most of the time you just want to glide down the road. And the best part about a Jag is the deprecation. A really nice XJ for the price of a nice honda accord, and I would much rather be behind the wheel of the Jag.
Like any luxury vehicle, there are very worthwhile examples available. But still might lake you a while to find one. But so worth the time and effort !..
When I was a kid in the 70s we'd go cruising around Sunset Blvd, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood to check out the cars. We'd always get excited when we saw a Rolls.
I totally agree with you on this. You should compare this one to your 1980's model, since you own both. The one thing an older Bentley has over a Rolls is it "blends in" a bit better. Like a 1990's Bentley Continental R. It's something you can daily drive, does not look super ostentatious (you could park it at the supermarket and not worry about it), and is about 1/5th the price of what it cost new. I am not a fan of the newer Rolls Royce models and I think the giant rims and being in too many rap videos has made them a little too "bling bling" than stately and elegant, like they were in the past. Though Jay Leno recently reviewed the Rolls Royce Spectre and I would take any 1950's-1990's Rolls/Bentley over it any day. The plastic bumpers and it basically looks like a cross between a Chrysler 300 coupe and dodge challenger with equally ugly wheels to match.
This video was made for me. I drive a ‘23 GR86 in summer and a 2007 Cadillac DTS in winter and when the 86 is track prepped. Its what I can afford and the combo is delightful.
I've always had a deep desire for a Bentley Turbo R, at my first ever job, the Boss had a Bentley Turbo, I drooled over it as I swept the warehouse, and always wanted the R because it was even gruntier.......😅😅 Imagine my disappointment when I lifted the bonnet to service it, to find a Bog standard Bentley, with Turbo wheels and badges....😅😅😅😅 So I would settle for a plain Jane Turbo and be happy, and debadge it like I've done to all other stuff I've owned, I prefer the Stealth option 👤😅
You treated that car with the reverence it deserves. When properly looked after they are a pleasure to own. Btw it's Rolls-Royce with a hyphen. Excellent video.
I do want to own one based on this series of videos. Just so lovely. A true automobile. I am curious about sourcing parts, fairly available? An SUV can only look like an SUV.
Sometimes, we just don't feel like changing gears or driving fast and a Rolls-Royce is a nice solution to that. By the way, I noticed the captions setting are set to both "english" and "auto generated" in this video and was wondering why because I've found that the auto generated captions work really well to the point where it's not necessary to manually type in captions. Normal Guy Supercar for some reason insists on manually captioning his videos despite me telling him it seems counterproductive and more difficult to follow. His argument is that the auto generated captions don't work well which was the case 10 years ago, but definitely not now. Just wanted to let you know so you don't have to go through the time and hassle of creating more work for yourself having these videos manually captioned, which people like myself really appreciate if that is the case.
It was a sad transition from luxury meaning exquisite materials, fine craftsmanship, smooth, effortless comfort, real engineering and style to now. Now luxury is about who can cram the most amount of new technology in a bubble that was designed to meet crash test and fuel economy standards that Big Brother makes. The highest end cars with the most tech become large paperweights when the tech gets old and no one wants to fix it, or can't.
theres a old rolls roller near me, i thought of buying it and putting a gentle small block in it with a 700r but I have enough stuff I haven't finished
As a car enthusiast like you who likes luxury sometimes, I've been keeping my eye on Bentley Continental GT pricing. This older rolls really concerns me on parts availability.
This is why i my favorite street car is the W140 90s S-class with the straight 6 M104, so smooth and comfy, soft close doors, double pane glass... no annoying dashboard screens beeping, distracting, and spying. No hydraulic or air suspension to fail. It's just... nice... and quite reliable & safe. the main thing that scares me about old rolls is the hydraulic braking system.... very 'arcane' triple (high/low/return) design with the "ABS" pressure limiting system in the middle. Like if that high pressure side pump or accumulators fail, and braking goes to rear wheel only backup master cylinder/low pressure mode, and then you emergency brake, would it not limit the pressure to near 0?
Seems Rolls Royce needs to sponsor you.... 😉
I agree

You've convinced me. I need one.
Nice!

This makes me appreciate my 90s car even more.
Your analogy on you already being at your destination, is awesome. what a great video
Thank you.
Suddenly I feel like I need a vintage Roller in my life
"Automotive Companion". Never heard that expression to describe a vehicle before. But it works, and I like it.
I got more
I've driven one once and totally enjoyed that experience. I need one in my life, one day.

Just fantastic! Thanks for the exquisite ride. It was epic.

One to carve corners, one to waft and socialize, one to go a hundred miles from the nearest pavement. That's the goal.
Your testimony sounds so much better than all these sad 'I bought the cheapest Silver Shadow' videos.
That dash is very modern looking by today’s standards.

A fine and exquisite sailboat as in a Hinckley Bermuda 40 perhaps lol
If I had a choice between a classic land yacht and a classic muscle car. I would choose the land yacht every single time.
You treated that car with the reverence it deserves. When properly looked after they are a pleasure to own. Btw it's Rolls-Royce with a hyphen.

Quite simple actually. I have a 1997 Silver Spur and it is delightful.

True
👍Absolutely sad 😔 but true. Modern electronics have destroyed these once very reliable cars.............

No problem with purchasing spare parts. But as you would guess very expensive, especially new old parts !..
This is an idea i can get behind
This looks like pure pleasure to me🖐
😂In Tulsa Oklahoma these potholes is gonna f up your tires, alignment and whole suspension within a year.
People who own and buy a Rolls_Royce or Bentley vehicle , do not usually worry about small details like that !!...
If it hasn't started leaking mineral oil, it will. But it's nice. I'll keep my 2000 Crown Vic. It's comfy enough for me.
All things eventually leak on everything….
Everything will start leaking eventually. Including humans when they get older 🧓 !..
YES!
Top vid!
Luxo barge me over a 5000 pound Nurburgring hammer.
50s 60s caddies also smooth rides
Why you need an old Rolls Royce? You are getting older. Welcome to the club.
It’s like riding a motorcycle
Ya gotta do it to know
That interior looks opulent.
yeah this car is in amazing condition
@@Gearbhall i think things can have patina/wear and still be opulent, if anything it adds to the legacy & proof of fine design.
I wonder if there are other similar land yachts....
Of course there are . But they are not a Rolls_Royce or Bentley !.....
🙂
You need some proper pants and a driving cap..Young American’s giving England some sort of type of dissertation no doubt..lol
bro we cant even afford rent and groceries
Don’t vote Democrat for starters, work smart, and get a tool box. My 1997 Rolls was $8,000
@@CaseyPutsch holding tight till november it’s been insane
Too hoity toity for me.
This chap with his red baseball cap and torn trousers, looks as out of place in a Rolls, as Biden does in the White House!🫢😕
