  • How To: Natural Diet For Rabbits & Guinea Pigs
A brief overview of how I feed my rabbits & guinea pigs a more natural diet. The digestive systems of these companion animals is very similar to their wild ancestors, so providing a diet close to nature is important for good health & well-being.

Thanks for this informative video. The little white abby sitting in the foodbowl made me laugh. She is one sassy girl. I think she will grow up to be a very funny guinea pig ;)

Hi Erin. Well done you. Angus and his new family look very happy. You have given four guinea pigs, and two rabbits a new home. It's so rewarding to see them all so happy. Good on you. Love Eileen. 😘😍💖💓💚💜

Very educating and a good beginner-friendly video!
Though I should say that keeping guinea pigs and rabbits together is risky, since they can transmit bacteria to eachother which can lead to respiratory diseases.
Their body languages are also different (seperate classified families). They can't communicate the same way, and can turn ugly if they feel threatened or uneasy with the other species.
Keeping them seperate also removes the risk of the rabbit eating the food meant for guinea pigs, vice versa :)
Thank you for sharing the awareness of a healthy and strict diet for both animals. Your editing is clean and with the right flow. Keep up the good work!

Hi Sussie, thanks for your feedback, I appreciate the comment ! 😊 Yes I'd have to agree with some of those points you made with mixing these animals. Ours are very much sepearely kept now - some of those photos were from a shared playpen I used some years ago, where they'd visited each other an a couple occasions :)

Very informative video,I have a diabetic guinea pig and was advised by the exotic vet to stop feeding her nuggets or kibble just good quality hay and non sugary veg so my other piggies get the nugget bowl for 10 mins a day while the diabetic piggy has lap time ,they don't seem to miss it and their weights are better (some were a little too podgy ) .🥰

I loved seeing photos of your previous herds, I currently have 11 piggies and its great fun seeing them all play together. Its wonderful you give them free roam, in a safe environment, I did notice you had some images f rabbits and guinea pigs together, just wanted to get your input on that, as some owners may not know it can be dangerous...

Your Angora bunny looks like an animal from Sesame Street. Very adorable. I had a bunny that had gas problems from dried food and vegetables combined. Today there is medicine (Lefax) that you can get from the Pharmacy store and that helps a bit.

This is very useful. Though I wouldn't suggest giving the bunnies carrots, those should normally be given for treats. Otherwise, nice video.

Erin if you intend on getting all of your piggies fixed, be sure to have all of the girlz spaid to be fair to the boys.

It's easier and less invasive to neuter the males. Spaying is a very invasive surgery

that isnt a natural diet for rabbits..many people think of greens and stuff as natural when really lettuce is just a WILD herb..complete pellets are all natural, that diet is very imbalanced and can cause alot of heath issues.
