As a Chinese, I have to clarify. The last Wukong boss kicking the stick back to you makes you feel disrespected. In fact, it is what the elders in the East do to motivate the younger generation. The purpose is to tell you that I let you, you still can't beat me, you have to work hard.
The ending animation was you got his all memories back from the ending to the very beginning, you finally became him and got a new life started from the very beginning, well done.
Old Monkey doesn't know the Mind Relic is in Erlang's eye ... thats why he said Mind Relic is lost ... for Bad Ending (without ErLang figh = no Mind Relic) , old monkey put the Headband on you again to trap you in the stone.
Just like that old monkey said, yes and no, mind sense indeed deems to fade away once Wukong died, yet a fragment of his mind aka his memories might endured and saved from perish if there are a suitable vessel to store it, for eg, Wukong favourite snack, Erlang extra eye, that's the how Wukong hinted at Erlang while keep everyone else from Celestial Court and Lingshan who keep an eye on that battle in the dark, not knowing Wukong real plan. Actually even Erlang is uncertain about Wukong plan either, until the new Monkey beat him, only then he finally understand what Wukong truly mean in that battle. Because even Wukong not sure whether his that fragment of his mind sense can survive, so this is actually a gamble for him, he is experimenting a new approach even the Celestial Court and Lingshan aren't aware is possible and feasible. That's how Wukong can deceive Celestial Court and Lingshan while using Lingshan help (to find his successor) in the process to resurrect Wukong himself with his new monkey. That's why Maitreya is so grateful when the gourd guy said he can't read what not yet written, which indicate even other deties and buddha can't figure out this new trick of Wukong since nobody ever tried it before. Then why Maitreya find this out and still willing to help, I guess because Erlang seek shelter from him since Maitreya is suppose to be the future buddha, the succesor of the current one, hence he may not agree or happy with the current buddha arrangement on some issues.
When you saw the old monkey say that the sixth root of Sun Wukong is the Destiny Man, you seemed to be about to cry. Sensual, you are worthy of the title of Destiny Man and can inherit the will of Wukong.

The fantasist wears a suit of Sun Wukong himself to subdue demons and protect the people he wants to protect. So when I dressed up neatly and saw the golden hoop that stood tall in the sky, tears welled up in my eyes.
Erlang kept for Wukong the mind relic is critical to Wukong's breaking free from the curse of the headband, he was all along Wukong's brother, who's helping Wukong behind the mighty power of the celestial court, it would be more interesting to play if you know the story behind

He actually can't see can't hear can't smell you during phase 1, that's why he became stronger after he regain his five sense in phase 2.

That boat ride was ... strangely... my favourite part.
The boat ride was beautiful, this game has the coolest cinematics and cut scenes.
