Hey so for my first ride of the year I started up my sled 17 850 and it was bogging out, no power, and back firing a lot. Talked to my uncles who are lifetime skidoo make shift mechanics and they said yeah you plugs are probably trash. I searched how to change spark plug on 850 skidoo and this was the first video that popped up. You honestly made it so easy understand how to fix. I am no mechanic and learning how to work on these 850s by trial and error. I followed and watching this video step by step. Very easy to follow and overall just very informative. Sled is running great now after I switched it. You did a great job of explaining how to index the spark plugs. Thank you for putting this up without it, I would have been lost. Look forward to seeing the content you post in the future. Skidoo couldn’t have made it harder to replace these spark plugs with how tight it is in there but this was very helpful thank you!!!!!
Just changed these on my 2022 Lynx Rave. I was having a heck of a time getting a torque wrench in there. What I found got me just enough room was to loosen the top steering post mount. This will let you move the steering post to the exhaust side and torque both plugs from the top side of the engine.
Thanks for this video! I have about 1000 miles on my 850 Summit SP . It is a 2018… I have never changed the plugs. This year on start up my sled is bogging… kinda dying too. Then it gets going and has power.. but I think my plugs are due for a change. This video will help me!
I'm having that same issue right now. Did you get your sled going again ? What was the correct fix ? Edit: I did drain my old fuel and replaced with 94 octane but no results with that
@@jfrosa437 I am changing the plugs now… I have new fuel in it. Getting the plugs in and out is not so bad. Trying to torque them is another thing.. IDK see how it’s possible.
@@BraydenSZ I have new fuel in now.. in the process of changing the plugs. So we will what’s up. Trying to torque them is not easy, damn near impossible. Not snowing in California anyways… so I am not riding🤦🏼♂️
@@kelleyrogers8107 that is also what I did. Got 2 new plugs and also a fuel filter for peace of mind. My dealership tech was the one to tell me not to worry too much about torque... he says what is really important is that they are indexed correctly, and proper torque should be right there.
Can you do a video on the suspension on the 2018 renegade backcountry x how to Loosen and tighten it I just bought one and wondering how to properly do it love the vids 👍
That would make the job way easier. I didn't have the special tool to hold the top gear or I would have. You will need to pull the exhaust to get the jackshaft out.
We only showed one side as it is the same for indexing the spark plug. Same torque as well. Follow the same indexing process on the second spark plug if you need to change it.
@@mattandkatchristie2552 you're correct.. it's an easy fix. All a guy would have to do is make it easy to remove that fuckin airbox and boom! Direct shot at the plugs, but can you remove the box easy.?.....hell no.

Thank you for the great coment. And yes indeed skidoo have made these engine pretty tight

Great videos, always helpful and easy to follow. Love the accent!
Hey nice video, best one I have seen for changing plugs on a gen4.
Thank you for the great coment

Probably a result of bad old fuel. These plugs are rated to last a very long time

Same procedure for the 600r?
Trying to torque the plugs seems impossible without taking the airbox out? Is it that critical as long the index mark lines up?
How in the f;!"; Did you get a full size torque wrench in there ??!?
Made it work lol
Very helpful bros!! thanks!
Very useful, thank you for your video!!!
Your welcome !

Does this apply to an 05 mach z?
I do not know as this was not the sleds i drove in 2005 tks
wow. I never noticed that clip on the boot..... that would explain why its been such a PITA to take the boots off and on....
👍
Where did you get the paper work with all the instructions??
My local skiddoo dealer ship if you want a maintenance bulletin you will have to pay to have it
Any idea if this applies to a 2009 Ski-Doo Summit 600HO Etec?
Im not shure you would have to contact your local dealer
Actually I believe it does if it is fuel injected.
size of the box pls
Lol didn’t show doing the right plug clip, it’s almost impossible. Did you end up doing it also or leaving it
My plugs were new this is just an intructional video for changing spark plug on a E-Tec
A couple long screwdrivers will help with the right side clip.
ILKR8Q7 plug?
Indeed it is
I like to see a sparkplug change on a 2021 skidoo skandic 550f ...starting with the hood. That's where I'm stuck...removing the hood. lol
anyone have torque spec for 2017 600 Etec plugs?
Mercii très utile
Bienvenue 👍
For ease iam think i going pull jack shaft shaft which is easy
Yes it would help for sure
That would make the job way easier. I didn't have the special tool to hold the top gear or I would have. You will need to pull the exhaust to get the jackshaft out.
Ya ima just stick with carbed sleds so when my spark plug fails it doesn’t need half of the body off to get to it and doesn’t take 30 minutes
what about mag side?
We only showed one side as it is the same for indexing the spark plug. Same torque as well. Follow the same indexing process on the second spark plug if you need to change it.
Second the motion on how to do both sides. Not being a jerk. Would just like to see it done. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks.
Noted, thank you for the comment.
I can't imagine having to change a plug on trail at -20 at night lol ...i have one.
stupid design by brp
Agreed but etec dont go threw plugs like the old sleds
@@4SeasonBros true
It's best to change before you need to.
@@geneb5482 haha ya for sure... but still stupid design. Something like that should be easy instalation

That’s why I’m not buying a brp it’s so complicated to change a easy part 🤦♂️
Ya but spark plugs on the etec don’t need to be change for around 10k km
Polaris and arctic cat 2 storks are the exact same lol.. no room in any of these new sleds. Try a 4 stroke.. it’s impossible lol
Why this guy has an Quebec accent ..
Because he’s from Miami duh🤦🏻♂️
What is that tag/paperwork literally in your motor lol.. it looks like it’s attached to where reeds are lok
