Im with you man. AES is that console I just had to have as an adult. This seems like a great solution since I sold my CRT a while back.
Boy, did I want a Neo Geo back in the day. Good to see people are keeping it going years later.
I did too but it only took me 15 years later and the games are still expensive.🙁
For what you are getting, this is a hell of a value... and if you only need a cable for one system (and not a bunch), you can't beat it.
So the question I always have in my head. Why can't SNK license out a new AES console at a lower pricepoint? I think a company like Hyperkin could make an AES below $200 that could read cartridges to an HDMI output. Maybe this is crazy, I was just wondering why this hasn't happened?
They did the Neo Geo X a few years ago, and I heard it wasn't good, and it was just emulating games. And the little portable that comes with it has screen tearing. I like your idea though.
I like original hardware as well. To me it's more authentic than emulation. I've played NES and Genesis games on plug n' play systems, but I felt like it wasn't the same feeling I had as a kid. I wanted to play those games on original consoles and cartridges.

Never had a Neo Geo as a youngster, so I have no real nostalgia for it. But.. if I ever sold my collection, my AES stuff would be the last bits to go! There's STILL nothing like playing legit arcade games at home.
These look like such great options. Love the plug and play aspect.

Madlittlepixel the thing that I like just from seeing these vids is they have the simplicity but not the nasty blurring or weird aspect ratio of other plug and play solutions.
Ron great video as always and fantastic that you review these devices and bring them to our attention, thank you for that. Thank you for confirming it doubles the output to 480p as I wouldn't be able to use this with my LG SUHD TV which doesn't accept the Neo's native 240p output.
In my personal opinion I think to best compare these upscaling devices is by using anime esque games since you'll notice the difference in each in terms of sharpness, brightness and such. I love that you did the neo geo since it has many of those types of games and the games displayed here look amazing with the rad 2x. If its that good image hd retrovision with the retrotink 2x the quality should be on par since its made by the same guy and both output the same resolution.
This is better that all that ossc and framemeiser crap. For a regular user and non streamer who wants something easy to use. This is perfect.
Use still since 1992 the original AV Composite mono cable with my Neo Geo AES. Is razor sharp on my 49 inch Panasonic 4K TV.and the sound is very koud. My second Neo Geo AES is on my old JVC CRT TV with RGB. Have now only 1 original AES Dogtag Last Resort game. And with the Super MVS Converter 2 Blue Led version with the original MVS Metal Slug 1,2,X,3 games. Play the most Metal Slug 3. Hope that i can buy the MVS game Viewpoint. For me Last Resort is the best shmup on the AES.

I have retrotink also gonna pick up n64 rad2x that also can be used on super Nintendo. Whats name of that kicking ass military shooter game! First game you was playing looks good.

What's the delay on an ossc? 55ms sounds like a fair amount when you add whatever your display delay is aswell it's starting to get up there.
Its 55 Microseconds, did I say milliseconds in the video? 55 Microseconds is .055 milliseconds... so virtually nothing. No sure what the OSSC latency is, but probably a similar number. Line doublers typically are not introducing much.

No - the output cable on the RAD2X is for Neo Geo. The output on your Omega is like a Genesis model 2, but its not.
