Its 5 oclock on a Saturday..... Talkin with Davey who's still in the navy , and probably will be for life... Thats ME .... NAVY BABY... TIN CAN SAILOR !!
Awesome man, thanks! Just got inner cam bearings changed and put on Cyco Gasket shoes for the cam chain tensioners (2000 NT) and now I have a leaking fork seal, lol...sure this will be faster than the bearings and shoes, assuming that bolt comes out, there is always something that fights any project and I have a feeling it will be that, hahaha. Thanks again!
Great DIY video. I'm about to replace my forks, differnt cans, front fender extender, and a 21" front wheel. Your video helped me before I tackle the task. Full-watch. 👍🏽🤠 8/1/23
It’s a great video Badger but looking at the seal, it seemed there were grooves on both sides. After install and had my Fatboy on its wheels, fork oil was everywhere. I’m replacing it a second time and inspecting the seal, I noticed the numbers on the seal were down. I was advised to have the numbers on the seal up. I am reassembling my front end again! It’s all good and that’s how we learn. I’ll let you know how it turns out after I completely assemble the entire front end. Thanks for replying as well and have a great Memorial Day weekend and celebration!
Good job dude, I do my own on my 06 heritage but I didn't catch the part where you inspected the bushings,, but thats ok if its only been 10 k miles,, I didn't change mine last time, ,, looking forward to seeing some more of your work 🦅😎🦅
Is this the same for the air shocks? Of course I would have to let the air out first, but I’m assuming it’s the same for the rest of the way. I got a 97 RK
Nice and straight forward. Great video man. Guess I’m going to be doing this next weekend. I have the exact same issue. Quick question, do you use a specific vendor for the parts/seals and fork fluid? I’m pretty much done getting stuff at my local Sonoma County dealership here. Takes way too long to get the simplest parts and hardware and most importantly… they are way too expensive. Fatboys Forever.
I had to comment I was laughing watching your video saying yeah those pinch bolts aren't going to break😅😅😅. I took the newly acquired fat boy apart yesterday one of the bolts came right loose and the other one was already loose I was like wow no wonder the front end was a mess . It wasn't loose because it was left loose it was already broken haha yeah they're going to be replaced with grade eight bolts
The biggest problem with these videos, you make it look so easy that I think I can do it. Then I end up with a box of parts from where, I don’t know, and now I gotta call someone. 🤷🏻♂️😁
You can use tape like I did in this video when I was I on the road EP 2 Badgers Epic Route 66 Motorcycle Ride On Our Harley Davidson Fatboys Day 20 th-cam.com/video/9zBB_UIRtrU/w-d-xo.html
If I'm just changing fork oil, do i still need to drop the wheel and brakes,? Or is there a drain plug like in other year bike videos. Fyi mine is an '04 fuel injected Fatboy. Thank you in advance 😊
I really liked this straight forward approach and focus on the workmanship not cleaning, great video. It has given me more confidence to do my own
Thanks for the compliment, you can do this for sure, just take your time Easy Peasy
Thank you for the video…definitely more fun than raking leaves and doing yard work!
You got that right!
Loved the video! Exactly what I needed and nothing I didn't.
Awesome glad it helped, thanks for watching

This made it easy to do mine. Hell got it done before the 6 pack was done. Thanks
You’re working too fast or drinking too slow. Take it easy 🤙🏼

my seal just crapped, thanks very much for the excellent video..

Great break down, and a great excuse to get the knees in the breeze. Test ride! Keep the shiny side up and the greasy side down!
Thanks Michael always love the test rides
Great video! Thank you!
Really cool video, I have never done this so was very interesting. Made it look very doable. Ride safe!
It is pretty easy job, Thanks for watching

Online parts vendors used???
@@jayiod2196 I should have links to all the products I used in the description of the video
Blanca is back on the road again just in time for some Memorial Day weekend riding! Let’s ride! No fork oil leak!
Is it pan head nacelle mounted on your bike?

Thanks Jim
Great video👍
Thanks

Lol most of it is pretty easy, I was once intimidated by motorcycle, but they are so simple it's scary
Thats why I tell everyone get an apprenticeship from a professional who knows what they are doing. This is not something you just pick up & do.
If you don’t have a seal pusher, how would you recommend getting the seal seated to expose the groove for the ring
You can use tape like I did in this video when I was I on the road EP 2 Badgers Epic Route 66 Motorcycle Ride On Our Harley Davidson Fatboys Day 20

Great video but you do not have to pull the top caps when you do FLST 41mm seals.
Some you do some you don’t

Drain plug at the bottom of each fork, pretty easy job. The drain plug has a crush washer on it you will probably want to replace
Where did you get those fork covers from?
Found them on here: amzn.to/3khhLxZ. The bike had them on it when we bought it.
Thank you!
👍👍
Thanks bud see you tomorrow?
Did I miss something or did you show removing the seal and bearing race
What bearing race are you referring to
What year is that Fatboy?
2005
