I hate to disappoint you, but things will never change, racism is one of the evils that GOD speak of, and one of the reasons the World will be destroyed , be kind to everyone, treat all people with respect, know that no one is above the other , no matter how rich or what job you have on this Earth, don't show pride in public, be humble , give when ever you can or what ever you can, tell no lies and speak no ill will toward anyone, do these things and you will live in the World alone side of JESUS , this life as we now know it, will pass at the blink of a eye, that my friend, is the good part.

Racism happens to a lot of races here in Canada and around the world and I think will always be the case. My mom came from the Philippines and worked two jobs back to back for 17 years and was bullied so badly by East Indians because they ran her work place but she had to stay strong and deal with that among other things while growing up but is still grateful to Canada until this day. My ex girlfriend of many years was Congolese but grew up in Kenya and yes I felt racism on her part when we were together and it was frustrating and sad but again it came from all races not just white people. She is still grateful for Canada and always stayed strong and didn’t let these idiotic attitudes tear her down. Hopefully things will change in the world but the state it is in right now doesn’t seem to be the case.

Is your husband an African American born in Canada when you say black? I feel like it depends on the group. Like us Caribbeans have less discrimination than African Americans. I am Haitian Caribbean and I have family in Canada (Montréal and Ottawa) and the USA. I’m just curious, but do you find a lot of African Americans where you live in Canada? Particularly in which province? The only African American I know in Canada is Drake.

@@quiestcethomme3915 Well we live together in the US but while we were dating years ago my husband still lived in Toronto and all his family and friends are still there. I am from the US. I am AA and my husband was born in the Caribbean but came to Canada as a child. He says that when he was in school some of his teachers and some of his friends were blacks from Canada ( like been there for hundreds of years).
I also met an African American man here in my city in the same situation, his entire family has been in Ontario and Nova Scotia since slavery times. We got to talking because he found out that we had just moved from Canada. He now has moved to the States too.
I think that Caribbean and African communities in Canada are more insulated than the African American communities in Canada and of course now Africans and Caribbeans far outnumber the AA blacks in Canada.

Racism succeeds because, they practice it TOGETHER, in UNITY, without shame, fear or care. As long as we keep accepting it, there will be no end.
Not that long ago, we acknowledged one another in public, had each other's back(without verbal communication) and gravitated to where ever black people convened.
Today, we avoid eye contact with one another. We frown at one another(some women are notorious for this), we avoid one another and will get into a fight with one another faster than with a non community member.

While driving to Alaska I picked up a crying ww who was stranded about 20 miles away from home. She seemed to be a nice lady until we went over a hill and was immediately passed by a police officer going in the opposite direction. He looked at me (in a new white firebird) then at her and put on his lights. I warned her the police will turn around and stop us because he saw her. She didn’t believe me so I instructed her to simply observe. We both looked at the speedometer, 61! He turned around and came up behind us. I pulled over and he walked to the drivers window and asked HER if she was ok? She stated yes. He rudely asked for my license and registration and stating I was doing 70 in a 60. She attempted to defend me but he ordered her to be quiet. Her mouth dropped. I informed him I was at 60 but didn’t know the road would drop. He wrote me a ticket. I scribbled my name, he tore the ticket off the pad and threw it in the car. Asked her if she’s sure she was ok? She said yes and he walked away. She was clearly saddened and offered me dinner once she got home. She kept apologizing and I stated we live this way everyday and I’m use to it. Thanks for the offer but I’m on my way to work. At least he didn’t take my car. She started crying. I informed her she didn’t do it so not to worry, just learn from the experience. I left Canada and later was notified at my address in California I had a warrant for an unpaid speeding ticket, then later notified I was banned from Canada for carrying an illegal firearm. I imagined what could’ve happened if I was alone. Stay out of Canada! The system seems to be the same as America.

In Ontario Canada the healthcare industry is heavily marred in black racism! My sister was a Director of Care at 3 different long term care facilities over the last 9 years. The racism she felt was so bad that the WS are willing to destroy the reputation of the long term care facility and their own careers just do they could oppress my sister. My sister beat them all as she left the long term care and is now a pediatric consultant while the last place she left is now in chaos. Every long term care job she had the WS were getting her to do all of their work to a point where they did not know how to recover when my sister eventually left. Every long term care facility paid the heavy price when my sister walked out. I could make a video on this issue it’s so wicked the racism. At least my sister beat them all she is so smart. 👍🏽

I haven't been called the N word in Alberta to my face anyways and in Toronto too many times to count. I personally love Alberta and will probably retire here.
