I was about 5 miles from home driving on a Interstate highway when I hit a bad storm with hail, one of them that hit my windshield was at least softball size based on the indent it left on the windshield right in front of me. The windshield was so badly broken that windshield repair man just rolled it up when he took it off. Very thankful it was safety glass or the large hail stone would have landed in my lap!
Great video, glad Phil is OK, I have never come across a full windscreen shattering before but have noticed a couple of rear cab windows shattering this year on John Deere tractors through rocks being thrown up with drilling/planting here in England.
I hauled to town with tractor and wagons, met a feed truck on a gravel road and could see that big rock coming straight towards my windshield, watched the windshield turn into small pieces, it was the only tractor I had so hauled loads all day without the windshield, had to run the AC going one direction and the heater going the other. A cousin was combining beans and watched a broken auger finger fly up and break his windshield, so like you said about the boys and the windshield in the combine you never know what or when things happen
Our 9rs do that sometimes, where they go to idle and won’t rev up. Most of the time a restart will make it go again. One time it did that, the ECM had to be replaced.

Since you are fed up with uharvest, have you looked at pipe ag? Brian seems to like it, for tracking his cart data, elevator data, etc. They are also based in Springfield OH, it tracks where everyone is as well.

Took 2 men 6 hours to replace it, had to take the hood off and lots of other stuff. Try to vacuum the AC vents as best you can.
Hi Nathan, as a first year subscriber I have loved watching your videos! They have been very informative. I assume you carry crop insurance (yield or price). Have you ever considered insuring your end rows and rows bordering tree lines separately from the rest of the field as they consistently yield less than the rest of the field?
The windows breaking happens more than you think. The side door on my tractor which the tractor is brand new exploded and scared the crap out of me too like 2 weeks ago. I thought someone had shot at me or something. Probably was a rock or som other flying debris nonetheless it’s a scary situation when it happens.
My uncle's had their Case MX shatter the glass in the door on the side of the cab, two different times. It happens. Should be safety glass just like in passenger cars/light trucks.
This is a good example of why manufacturers should be REQUIRED to use safety glass, just like cars and trucks. It is really inexcusable to have glass in cabs shatter like that. NOthing like those shards exploding into your face. Glad Phil is OK.
The grain cart uses actual load cells and we frequently will check it to truckloads hauled to the elevator. The combine uses a mass flow sensor and while they can be accurate its generally understood they have some variability.
Imagine driving down the four lane highway at 65 mph and the drivers window just shatters. Happened to me and four guys traveling with me in South Carolina once. A car had just passed on the drivers side on the opposite side of the median. We thought some shot at us as well. We hit the floorboards & damn near wrecked. Bad thing is our boss and the vehicle maintenance guy thought we were lying even with four witnesses.
It was mentioned that another U tuber was having great success with his harvest program, it was kind of belittle on this channel that he had to say those comments as if he were sponsored, I asked him if he was sponsored by that cart weight system, the answer was no, He received it at no cost and was to report how it worked. He has had great success with storing information and transferring to home computer. That could be one to look at for the future. Just saying.

But to have a choice as to the product being good or bad would not, to me, be a sponsor. It would be a Consumer report. What if U Harvest gave you a unit & it failed, you reported all the failures would that make them a sponsor? I trust what you show, why should I not trust his video and his written reply? There are window films available to "contain" glass in cases such as yours, display/storefront, hurricane, etc. I don't remember the website but it was here in The U.S. 3M may be a mfg of it/them. It is applied similar to window tint film and, iirc, it not as susceptible to scratching. It may be an option in case safety glass is not available or if the price of such is exorbitant.

There's a couple. The load cells are universal so I can put whatever scale head on it that I want.

Wind erosion isn't a big concern here, especially on the clay soils.
