First time chicken owner. We built a coop and small run, but due to living in an area that is strict about free ranging, we needed to add more space. This run will be great for what we need. I made sure to use your link! We know how much every penny counts.
We have a few of those too and just love them! Ours are all mobile coops. One suggestions, we keep a lock in the latch to keep raccoons from opening it. They are crafty. We don't normally lock it unless we are away for a day to prevent 2 legged predators - LOL! Another suggestions, we made our door into a dutch door - split it in half and added another latch. Makes it easy to throw in scratch, etc.
Thanks for all the entertaining videos you guys do. I look forward to every one of them. I like your chicken setup... my setup isnt fancy but is very similiar sort of. I may have to do a video of it lol.
I have one of these that we purchased for our Polish Crested chickens, mostly because we were concerned with the larger birds in the flock abusing the smaller birds that can't see very well. It's held up ok for the 6 months that we have had it. I will probably replace that cheap thin chicken wire that comes with the run with something a bit more substantial though. I feel like a coyote could chew right through it.
i have a smaller version with a steeper pitch for my girls :) we have weasles and hawks and snakes so we have 1/2 and 1/4" hardware cloth and a wire skirt with landscape cloth on top. pain to put up with the hardware cloth but worth the effort :)
Hi from NZ, my chickens put themselves to bed every night in a big citrus tree, and sort of crash land each morning, they just use there coop for egg laying.
Thanks for sharing. Very affordable and this looks like would be perfect for here. It gets so cold here I have to definitely take that into consideration and definitely have to predator proof for racoons and possums.
Thank you for another great video! (: I have a quick question that isn’t related to this video but I’m hoping you or anyone else can help! I have 13 hens and 1 rooster. The rooster(Romeo) was not planned but I love him and am determined to keep him. I’m just a little confused on what feed I should have everyone on. Does a mixed flock of hens and roosters both eat layer feed or should I have them on a grower feed and just supply free choice calcium for the ladies?? It’s been so hard for me to find clear answers on this. Thanks so much in advance!! 🐓 ❤🐓
Hey, I don't see any replies to your question, so I hope you don't mind me jumping in, but I was taught that roosters don't need the extra calcium and it could actually be detrimental. Grower or All Flock is your best bet. With calcium on the side for the girls. I'm sure I've seen it several places, but the only blog that comes to mind right now is Bitchin Chickens. Claire is very knowledgeable and works with a vet to answer people's questions. You may want to check out her site. Good luck with Romeo!
@@aliciaspears7847 Hi! I don’t mind at all, thanks so much for the reply and advice! I’ve read that about the calcium for roosters as well but I couldn’t help but notice that it looks like a lot of the popular chicken TH-camrs that I watch are still going with a layer feed. And they have mixed flocks as well. I could be mistaken but that’s why I was hoping for some clarity lol. Thank you again for the reply! I do have everyone on a grower feed right now since I had a few younger ladies that weren’t quite old enough yet with of course free choice calcium supplement on the side. My layers still seem to be doing great. Still laying and no issues with the eggs! Thanks again! 🐓
Hey, you're welcome & you're not mistaken. I've seen that too. I suppose that what you have to decide is whether you're willing to take the chance that's it's not a big deal or err on the side of caution. I'm glad all your hens are doing well ! That's wonderful. Since it's working, maybe you should just keep it up ? I've heard that changing feed can throw them off laying for a bit, but I've never done it
@@aliciaspears7847 Thank you so much for taking the time to give your input and some advice. I did a little more digging and I definitely feel more confident and less confused in my decision of what to feed the ladies and my roo now. 🙂 Appreciate the help!
A friend gave me a run so I could potentially repurpose it to a greenhouse. After using it for so long, what are your thought on my doing that? Good and bad lol
Hey guys, thanks for all your great info! Unrelated to this video, my rooster has taken a sudden dislike to one of the hens and keeps attacking her. She has now isolated herself from the flock, down the far end of the run. It makes me sad to see her, but I'm not sure what to do other than isolate the rooster. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks! 🐓🐔
Hi Kelly I have a question for you hopefully you can give me some information on how to proceed with this problem. That being said. I have a hen that I believe she is egg bound we let her sit in warm salt water but I think that the egg might be broken what should I do😢 thank you

Awesome!! And most definitely! These are pretty easy to put together too! Best of luck!

I'm actually going to purchase this this week! Thank you!
Love your chicken videos❤ Thanks for sharing all your knowledge over the years
Very nice. I set mine up with those "easy-up" canopies, moveable fencing, and bird netting all around. Works for me.
That's a great idea!

I thought about these, but was unsure how durable it was. Especially wanting to add the steel to protect

Very informative, thank you.
