One thing to note is that an element on your roll is not necessarily a bad thing. It acts as multishot like warframe when you mod for a different element on your gun.
If you toggle on advanced damage numbers you’ll see 3 different instances of damage when shooting a target. Only the element with the highest % damage will be able to proc a status though. And the highest % takes over as the primary element damage when hitting an enemy.
It’s essentially a mini multishot if it’s an element you aren’t modding for.
Based on this explanation, I'd say elements you aren't modding for are a good roll on weapons with very low critical chance/damage, or low weakpoint multipliers.
Multiplicative damage will always be better than additive damage, but in instances where that is hard to achieve, it may be better to boost your base damage before worrying about Crit and Weakpoints.
A good example of this is the Albion Calvary Assault Rifle, which has super low multiplier stats despite it's Unique Ability.
That Tamers actual dps is probably only 360k since the crit just makes pretty numbers on paper and nearly zero actual dps on boss fights.
You want electric on all guns innately because it armor strips. And it won't mess up dps on enemies that are resistant to electric. That's flatout incorrect.
Is there somewhere I can find what all the elements do didn't know shock armor strips
View details on the weapon then scroll all the way down and hover over the elemental damage, a pop up should tell you what that type does

Tamer is better to run weak than crit. Its base crit is so tiny it’s not worth.

Nah i run crit and have 4.8x crit dmg and 56% crit rate, half my shots are doing over 200k dmg, paired woth a 100 rnd mag… around 20 million dmg per mag

Still the king sqaud leader. How are you liking compared to Warframe? I'm loving the open world aspect, but maaan I miss my ship and having all my crafting/info/mod table all right there. Hope they make housing or something down the line for that.
The same grind but imo, warframe is far ahead of the first descendant. Maybe with future updates it will be as good as warframe.

Kinda scuffed info, why would you roll for crit and crit dmg on a weapon that has low base crit?
Crit chance doesn't matter, but critical damage does because of its high base damage and high rate of fire. It is especially nice to see crits on weak points.

Firearm atk
Dmg to collosus
Status up
Weak point dmg
Story mode/hard mode
Firearm atk
Weak point dmg
Weapon change speed
Anything u want but not element
There are certain specific rolls
Tamer use the above or swap status up for mag capacity
Vestigial organ (gley boss kills)
Use above or swap status up for fire rate
Or use whatever you like. Lol

I feel like rolling crit and crit damage on tamer is just a waste.
You can always go with mag round and weak point if you don't think that it will benefit the gun. But based on experience, it does well with those orange crits when you have a high fire rate on the gun. However, there are better options in terms of rolling crit and one good option is thunder cage. The best option will be those hand cannons and sniper rifles as they have insane base crit.

It should be a gold crit damage roll and if it's not, then you will need to re-roll it.
Why are my stats changein i had all gold stats then all of a sudden one went blue ? My weapon level was 100 so idk why it changed to blue for
Some of the stats were bugged, so like blue cooldown reduction was actually better than gold and they fixed it now I believe so that could be why they have changed
Hey, I am so sorry to bother you. I’m hoping that somebody could help me out. I’m trying to understand what is the rolled stat cap on your guns like if I have a tamer in my weak point damage is 9.1%. What is the cap? For that stat

The phase exchangers get useless when you reach hard mode since you get all weapons at lvl 100
Best options for TAMER:
- FIrearm atk
- toxic atk
- status triger effect
- colossus dmg

The tamer is not a crit weapon. Thats a DPS LOSS. The numbers may look good but adding 15% of 5% crit chance means you now have 5.7% overall crit chance. Waste of mod slots.
Is it a good or bad thing to specifically aim to keep perks/rolls with anti-colossus dmg bonuses? Like I'm trying to get fire arm proficiency in the trash tier and using that against the mobs and occasionally the 2 colossi I have access to. All my good purples are sitting pretty in vault and maybe a couple Inventoryed for until I'm done with hound series
Like those perks are the same as bane of faction mods from wf and I didn't like trying to build counter to them. Maybe when I figure out what weapons beyond magnus and young noble, heros scar, etc that I'd like to use regularly ill rerolled those for colossus specifically then get duplicates to roll for rainbow factions
You can always use those anti-faction rolls. In fact, I'm planning to have faction rolls and collect like different variant for a weapon with different faction setup.
I know I COULD but the issue is that it's like "is this number value good enough/high enough for these guys? Can it get higher? Do I have to get 9 different iterations of this gun for each enemy type? If I love it so much do I need to readjust all of them for this?" My hound and gangster series does ok at lvl16-22 rn. I only occasionally run out of scout rfle impact rounds on the grave walker but then I'm always using my guns for removing its parts
I COULD use faction rolls but that's incredibly annoying. The fact I'm aiming for colossus rolls on its own is tedious

Some might like the extra range and ammo capacity of the tamer. Its an ugly looking gun but works. I just use the thunder cage in boss fights because putting in an effort into this game is unrewarding.
Why not make 3 of the same guns with 3 different elements?😮

So what apart from ATK are the best mods for Tamer anyone? Colossus Damage? Seems like CRIT is wasted as its base crit is so tiny.
I went with firearm attack, weakpoint dmg, collosus dmg and then I got fire atk (any element will do imo)

Yes it does and you can have it at the fourth slot if you don't mind the bonus damage on colossus taken. Sometimes my rig can't handle boss fights and fps drops to 30 that it's harder to go shooting the weakpoints. Hence, I just give my guns pure damage. I can still aim those weak spots with 30 fps, but it goes crazy especially when I'm trying it with the hanged man during the enraged phase.

Mind sharing TC mod setup? I keep adding a bunch of maxed mods and only get it to 301626dps in the mod screen, it hits hard sure but it keeps falling short in operations/hard. Great vid as per usual, great work and happy to see you dabble in this game a bit, loved your vids on WF and love em here👌
I'm gonna say it, doesn't anyone else see how repetitive this game is? The story, the lazy writing, crap dialogue, missions that are cut and paste. It all just feels so lazy.
The whole "Its free to play" thing kind of falls apart when warframe is also free to play.

This is the first descendant. freetoplay looter shooter with warframe-like grind. I did not quit warframe, I just don't have anything else to share about it yet. Just waiting for new update.
Not putting elemental effects on it is way smart I nearly wasted my time on vestigial organ and ruined Gleys build
The thing is, it really messed up your build and I have done it and found out the hard way. It's better modding for elemental that getting stat rolls for it.
@@thegrindshack definitely I was following a Gley build guide and they said go for it I just figured it's doing extra damage 3 out of 4 times and you simply wouldn't get a bonus on the 4th I had no idea it did less damage 140 hours exactly since launch and I'm still learning something new everyday
