One of my favorite songs of all time, covered by one of my favorite singers of all time. Somehow I just found this cover today, hearing Aurora sing one of my favorite songs, it made me cry openly twice through. This right here is my 5th time listening to it, had to hear somebody react to it. This is a great moment for me. Good reaction, too. Oh, and whoever said the lyrics are dated is nuts ass crazy, no offense.
THis is one of the songs from an upcoming album, “Good Night Songs For Rebel Girls”. AURORA covers Rebelious and marvelous female artists, and intention is to inspire young girls and women to reach for their dreams and go for them. Here's she's very true to the original from 1998, w singer/songwriter Canadian Alannis Morisette, still putting her own stamp on it!
I can't believe I only found out she covered this today. Thank U is one of my favorite songs of all time.....it's a perfect 10/10 song for me. Lyrically it's great. But I love how PURE the music is. It's so simple, just 3 chords, but so so effective. And Aurora nails it....just brilliant. The only thing that saddened me was that she didn't replicate that incredible vocal melody in the outro. She did something similar...but the original, when Alanis sings those specific notes, is beyond cathartic. Was really hoping she'd do that....but still, the entire song is just insanely great.
Enjoyed your reaction to this song, which is a cover of an Alanis Morissette song. She stays close to the original, but does add a few Auroran flourishes. I believe AURORA picked "Thank U" because it reflects some of her own thoughts, feelings, and what she's gone through. The upcoming album that includes this song, "Good Night Songs for Rebel Girls," is a collection featuring a number of female artists, many of whom perform covers of earlier songs by other female artists. The album is meant as a companion to the book: "Good Night Stoties for Rebel Girls -- 100 Bedtime Stories About 100 Extraordinary Women Past & Present." AURORA is also working on her own album to be released sometime soon (the pandemic may effect timing, as it has for artists everywhere). Meanwhile, her iconic song, "Running with the Wolves," is featured in the new movie "Wolfwalkers," which is already being touted as the best animated film this year. th-cam.com/video/2UX0Nbrgd9Q/w-d-xo.html
totally agrree, when i first heard this on my amaozon alexa speakers when i said play my favourite songs, thiscame on and i thought it was the alanis version.
Great cover, some of the lyrics are dated, but much is still relevant! The issues of social inequality and vulnerabilities of humans are still here. This song will be part of collection of female original songs sung by current artists! This is the one Aurora selected.
The song is about her journey of enlightenment, Alanis took a trip to India and it was life changing! I don't think her powerful lyrics of enlightenment are outdated at all!
You have done a few Aurora reactions. It is time for you to see a different side of her. Please take a look at one of the clips of a live performance of "Conqueror" (either from the Honda Stage or the Jimmy Fallon talk show), her vocal and her dancing is just pure joy and shows how much she now enjoys performing on stage. You will be even more enchanted with her.
This was a very good cover of the original. Here are some suggestions for future reactions: Lucky live at Nidarosdomen A Different Kind of Human live at Christines Radiofestival Soulless Creatures live at Bergen 2020

The Original is from Alanis Morissette (Album: Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie - released 1998)
Thank You ❣️❤️

Aurora didn't stray from the original Alanis Morissette recording. But the original is pretty perfect to begin with.

Wonderful reaction! It's very lovely seeing someone *really* listening to music.. If you know what I mean. I really enjoyed watching this
First time I ever understood the lyrics, so good.

Love this cover by our AURORA. So proud of her. 💚💚💚
What of the lyrics are dated?
