I never put words on it because I don't really think through when I write, but I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE writing first impressions on my characters. I think it's my favorite part!!

your videos on writing craft are my favourites on this platform, thank u sm!
i'm really passionate about astrology so i like to use it to my advantage: i make an entire birth chart that's as detailed and realistic as possible (aspects and all) for my characters, the more important to the storyline the more detailed the birthcharts will be. and it usually ends up making SUCH a real character simply because astrology covers every area in life, and those charts actually exist/have existed somewhere so there's at least one person with a similar chart.
i obviously add character sheets, mbti, enneagram and work on their voice/backstory etc, but it always comes down to the birthchart that i've taken the time to establish beforehand. their chart is like a summary of everything u can ever find in any character sheet! one look at it and i know exactly what i was looking for
so if someone out there also has astrology as default language and always thinks in astrology terms, i would definitely advise on doing that! it's so practical and efficient

this idea sounds fascinating! one question how do you choose which time/place/etc you're going to use for the chart? like do you choose it at random, or use the character's actual birthday info, or pick which sun/ascendant/etc you want them to have and generate a chart from that...? ✨

@@aname4700 thank you!!! (: yup, u got it right! i always have an idea for what kind of astrological placements/archetype i would want for a character, so i always choose an ascendant that would generate a birth chart that makes sense for them. you know, for the houses to make sense as well!
so i carefully choose a rising sign that would be the set up for the perfect birth chart, then everything just kind of automatically falls into place since i've already thought it through.
i do this because i don't want my story to take place in a particular year, so i want to keep it vague but realistic, hence why i don't use the outer planets for these (:

I agree! I love creating the zodiacs and mbti for fun. Core memories is also something that made me really adore with some of my characters in the past and helps a lot. Great advice ♡
