"Unrepairable" is not the case now. We remanufacture rear panel flex ribbon and it is possible to repair it. It should last as long as original one or even longer because of tinner and more flexible material used. You can check our video. Thanks.
Took my GA645wi on several vacations. Easy to pack and carry around, it's great great travel camera with a fill flash that works well. All my pictures came out properly exposed and super sharp. Highly recommend the GA645wi.
The Zi is the known trouble maker because the ribbon cable (placed stupidly over the film door hinge) wears out, rendering it inoperable. The earlier plain-jane models do not see this flaw. A minor issue is their clocks only go through 12/31/2025, I guess Fuji didn’t think people would shoot these longer than 30 years, but it’s a testament to the GA645/i reliability.
I owned the GA645Pro. ( Standard rather than wide) with then went over into their Klasse Camera classifications. It was a fantastic camera , which appeared cheap and bulky but holy shit could that mother take some photos!. The 60/4 was one of the best lenses Ive shot with and to this day I take Fujinon over Canon L glass etc.
FYI, there is a camera repair company in Finland which provides replacement parts and a full repair of the "failed digital screen' data cable" problem which he mentions for the GA645Zi at the end of the video. They have also posted a very long TH-cam video detailing the repair process. As best I can determine from the video, they pull the damaged flexible circuit board from the camera, replace it with a new one they manufacture and then transfer all of the electronic components from your old board to their new replacement. Not cheap, but a lot cheaper than replacing the camera. I wonder if there is a market for very cheaply buying up failed cameras, having them repaired, then reselling for a profit?

I own the GA645 Pro with the standard lens, a 60 f/4, it's a great "point and shoot" medium format. That lens is so sharp!

I own this camera, it's a great "point and shoot" medium format. That lens is one of the best lenses I've seen, so sharp!

Do you mean the ribbon cable broken on your 645zi? That's a well known problem. It causes the LCD display and back controls to stop working.
