For those who might be interested, there is a thing we use in gold prospecting called "miners moss", which is a plastic weave that helps catch fine gold. It comes from the fact that if you are prospecting a river with moss on the side, you can rip the moss up from below the high water mark, beat the snot out of it, and put it back and it will usually yield gold, they are really good natural gold catchers.

I love liverworts. They look so alien like and they're supposed to be the oldest land plants.
