So nice to see a horror game bold enough to actually have a happy ending without any 'The End...?' nonsense. I actually had a childhood dream about crawling through vents too, and hoping not to run into any headcrabs haha. I really like this guy's work, he likes to do his own thing in development which is more personal, I appreciate that. Thank you CJU for showing this to us!
Very true. In fact, in horror these days, just having an ending of any kind is a novelty. I haven't seen a horror movie or played a horror game in so long because they ALL seem to either end on sequel hooks or open-ended nonsense.
For the love of God, this game makes me cry to see all the souls trapped and finally they can be free..
Also all of the vibe just induced nostalgic feelings and feel like home, love this game so much!
Thank you for playing this game Chris!
When your recurring nightmare provides creative inspiration. 👏 Good job, Jordan.
I enjoyed this. Tbh, I enjoyed it mostly because it had a happy ending for all. The promise of escaping what feels like an endless nightmare and returning to a happy life is very comforting and appealing to me. Also...Chris. 😊
Yea the Demonic presence that plays with it's victim till they inevitably die has been done to death (pun intended). The protagonist going thru a horrific nightmare in order to learn some sort of a lesson or overcome some sort of hardship is a better use of the horror platform. That type of story telling was big in the 50's and 60's so just as in fashion, horror trends repeat.
That Jordan's Jolly Jipper advert was absolutely phenomenal!
Worth getting the game just for that alone.
Consider me a permanent fan of the JJ's Jippers.
When he said was 100% chip, I was expecting it to be a potato.
You've come a long way as youtuber. Loving your style, I probably watched 75 percent of all your videos so far. Keep up the good work 💖
I've been watching through his old videos too. So much good content. 👍
Haven't watched 100%?.... Pffff amatuer
@@DustinBarlow8P not everyone has so much time on their hands. I'm working my ass off, that's life. I rather stay amateur than bitching around like you
at 14:30, you can closely listen to him, saying "it feels lava" and when you reverse the sentence, you will be greeted with a code that he said previously, the code is actually "anon three phone" that means that he says about an anonymous that hacks computers
So the story was really interesting right up until you had to save the 4 souls by curing dementia and depression with a couple one liners and a song, at which point the writing just became about as subtle as a prostate exam with a roto rooter. Overall I still liked this but I think the soul saving portion and ending could use a massive rework.
That’s a great way to get rid of someone’s junk huh? Oh he definitely would want you to have these several boxes of his prized possessions! 🙄
I'm a big fan of music from the 30's and was pleasantly surprised to hear "Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries" in this game! It's a very touching song and very fitting.
That was sad but bittersweet. Evan is a good dude.
"Is there something behind me? WHOA, THERE DEFINITELY IS, THERE DEFINITELY IS!!!"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Only on your channel can I get such a laugh, Chris.
*Now, please play Night in the Woods.* Don't worry, I'll give it up when November hits.
Oh man!! I love your channel and love that you post so often!! Please never stop making content because you will continue to grow and be a successful entrepreneur in this industry. Thanks for all the laughs!
Bit late now but this is definitely one of the best I’ve seen you play. Really interesting, loved the depression level especially.
when you went to get in on the right side of the car that was so fucking cute
I thought the same thing, haha.
Reminds me of that game I watched you play(am just into this game) where the protagonist was killed because of the actions he took in the game. By the way, like the close ups (If you're handsome and you know it clap your hands).
That was really fun! Thank you for playing, CJU!
I immediately recognized the street lights from shopping list. I bet this is going to be good then..
While I like the premise of the game and really like the graphics style and sound effects, it does feel a bit like the game is more of a walking simulator rather than super interactive. I mean, there was one single linear path to follow the whole time, and when you're saving the souls, you don't really need to do much other than walk down the path set for you and/or talk to them. Would have liked to see a bit more interactivity if I'm being honest.
27:53 well yeah! The entity put googly eyes on him! >X3
The name of Tom Thomas reminds me of the Australian character from the reboots of Fireman Sam.
Amazing how the dev got Justin Long to be the clerk in the Eleven-Seven! Wow, impressive. 👍🏻😊
i get home late at night and listen to these on my bluetooth headphones as im doing chores, your narration makes the game action easy to visualize
chips have that chip to air ratio because it's the ideal amount of air to prevent the chips from breaking in shipping
Dude had really weird dreams... Glad he put them for a good use. I appreciate the message and the story even if it WAS kinda slow but still I liked the main idea:
Appreciate Irish potatoes before Jordan will turn them into the Jordan's Jolly Jipper.
The commercial reminds me of prince lol the r and b dude with the platform shoes
Hello there, I am new here since "Stay Out of The House", and I really enjoyed your playthrough and your voice too haha. Way to go pal.
I'd be curious to know if the developer actually did take (tasteful) inspiration from other horror games and media. Level 2 was a lot like SCP-087, the Mandela Catalogue influence is clear, but Level 3 really reminded me of the "Found on the Tapes" ARG which isn't super well known.
I actually really enjoyed this game. Loved the music. I wonder if this may open the door for a part 2 somehow....who knows if the entity really disappeared 🤔 Well done Jordan 👏 Thank you for playing Chris 🥰
**CJU at the Eleven Seven**
"Do I fancy diapers? No."
Well hold on there CJU, you don't know how long of a drive it is. Better safe than sorry right?
"*tsk" my wife and I..." I absolutely loved that, thank you 😂
Level 3 was especially terrifying. That audio too...
oh man this game was trippy, glad you are playing it in your channel!
Not a bad game. Crappy recurring dream though!
Nice to have a happy ending, although I’d love to know what the 4 of them came up with for why they were gone for 7 - 10 years.
reoccurring nightmares are a gold mine for horror stuff! that's how the saw series came to life :-) love your content- one of the only horror game youtubers who doesn't scream all the time 😭
the music at the end was so fitting; its a hell of an ending!
A lot of Mandela Catalogue and Walten Files in this one. I wonder how those two series are going to influence horror beyond these kind of derivative projects. Kind of like fnaf inspiring a huge amount of knock offs but eventually spawning brand new horrors in its wake as people played with the ideas and concepts.....like the Walten Files, for instance.
A bit slow, but I liked the music. Handled differently the limitations could have come off as charming but here you got the sense of slugging forward, but never really arriving. If too many devs see you as the finishing touch to their incomplete games, that isn't talent. Thats a scheme.
"Tom Thomas what a name it's like somebody called Scott Scotts" hahahah
best part about this experience was the mention of drinks not being name brand.
This pre game lore is actually just real life events
Definitely caught on to that analog horror theme too Chris. Halfway in so far and really enjoying it. Great work my friend, always a good time here with ya!-SLD
I enjoyed 'the shopping list, and looking forward to this one . Thanks Chris as always for accompanying us.
Dave Owens looks like the lead singer of KISS
Cheese toes and dori-toes cool stank flavor sounds great!
I liked the idea, not the execution. I was curious about the story and wanted to know how it ended, but the gameplay was lackluster : mediocre mini-games for the levels, even less gameplay when you had to save the souls, a boss fight in name only... And the game is MUCH too dark. As for the story : I hope it was therapeutic for the dev, but we've seen this kind of thing a hundred times before. At least Shopping List was fun. Not a bad game, but a disappointing execution of a promising premise.
Very surreal and strange but well done.
I was just thinking about the Shopping List; the part with the milk. Cool to see another game from this dev. The Caregiver music is back as well.
Thank you Chris for another excellent playthrough! You've definitely confirmed your parallel parking prowess. lol!
The music was bringing out a bit of my inner dad joke because some of it sounded similar to Kacey Jones' "Never Wear Panties To A Party (If you really want to have a good time)".
I liked this game, the developer has done good work so far,and for this to be Based on a reoccuring nightmare, man what a nightmare! I'm still trying to figure ALL the pieces of the nightmare out🤔 I got most of it down, either way,so glad to see a upload today!!🥰🥰
You referencing 078 just made my day, I love it when my favorite creators do more than play crappy fan made games and actually know the lore of SCP
I’d be pissed too if someone named me Thomas Thomas
Still better than Major Major Major
...a name for each one?
i think ava williams has a moustache
I remember once a long time ago getting a bag of chips with no chips in it
I have never recovered from such horror.
Always a quality video no matter what game this guy plays, I will be watching no matter what. But the game itself seemed very underwhelming to me. It was varied and as he said, given the concept, elements were underutilized. It's good that it was different from the average horror game, but there really wasn't much of a game involved. I don't wanna call it just a walking simulator even if it essentially was one though since it deserves more credit than that I think.
Nutty Professor came into my head. "Break through. Only thing about to break through is your ass about to break through the seat of your pants!" One of my favorite movies. Anyway, thank you for this upload CJU! I watched someone else already play this, but I wanted to see your reaction to it as well!
Tom Thomas isn't as unoriginal as my buddy David Davidson and his father, David Davidsdad
Harry Harold, to the surprise of some, is bald
Ah, another horror game with the VHS filter. Let's watch and see if there's any actual reason for it.
Nope, no reason at all.
@@jakebiassa I think that Video Game Creators keep using it since VHS tapes can have a very eerie feeling towards them so maybe an homage to Ringu. Before You die You see the Ring and. Ju-on or The Grudge reference? Ringu is what Before You die You see the Ring is called in Japan and Ju-on is what The Grudge is called also from Japan
I wish there really was a vaporwave radio station. That would make life perfect.
I actually prefer the positive ending. A happy ending in a horror game is nice on occasion.
i love that jolly jipper commercial lmao
tell me im not the only one who close their eyes at 27:05
I really liked this, very creative, and I do so love a happier ending!
Damn, that snes-era Enix font takes me back
This game was really good in alot of ways.. made me miss my grandma
The last stage was so cringy I was hoping to see an intense boss fight.
Honestly, I was hoping for a Jumanji type of ending.
It's 2022. We make much smaller, sharper pixels these days. So till then...
The dude's bedroom is bigger than my entire flat.
Leo's laptop has a battery that can last SEVEN YEARS on standby? Where do I buy it!? 🙂
A fun, original game. I enjoyed the gameplay, as usual. Keep up the good work, Chris!
~ @31m I was just thinking about the music myself. It's very discordant and reverbarative, plus feels like it's encroaching on you. Almost like it's an enemy in itself. This game has good atmosphere so far (I'd be Solid Snake in the vents myself but you do you #CJU 😄)
I don’t think there are many games that have you crawl through a level… Interesting.
Damn, another full game. Less go 🥰🥰
*Points at kitty ear headset*....... *Points at Chris's head*...... *Nods*
The grapics made it look old
Reminds me of the static speaks my name on lvl 4. Pretty creepy.
Chris I want you to play Silent Says.. love your work and I'm your og subscriber :)
@16:41 this music sound like a part of "The Caretaker - Everywhere At The End Of Time" (sounds so sad ;-( )
quite abstract, but I think there's depth and meaning to it. It could have improved with more of a challenge. The end boss seemed too easy, but I guess this is meant to be more of an experience than a challenging game.
I always laugh along with CJU hahahaha. His laugh is funny hahaha
Trippy Cringey AF Game.... But hey its CJU 😆💯
*Note* : I think that Commercial was made by the Dev 6:22 😅🤣 I mean.... LMAO.
I'm loving the video so far
The origin of the name 7-11 within their hours of operation. 7-11 is simply the original business hours of the convenient store chain. Early on in its history, the doors of the stores would be opened to conduct business from 7:00 am until 11:00 pm. Up until recent times, they should have changed their name to 24/7.
not enough jumpscares lol as always little minecrafty lol
-That’s A SCP Item 😆 Fits Right Into Their Krazy World #CursedItem
I love the close-ups. I know you’ve been including them for a while now. Please keep them up! It’s always nice to see you and your gameplays. Stay safe Chris!
Whaiting again chris play horor game and make my heart strong from jumpscare hohohohow.😁😁😁😁😁
Chris, since nextbot is quite popular recently. I kinda want to see you try them for yourself too if you think that sort of gameplay suit your channel
The music reminds me of the shinning.
I've been here for the past 4 years I love u cju I have literally wated all ur videos and I think ur so handsome lol too bad ur taken!! jk ;-) I just hope u can do a series soon I love when u play a full game which u haven't done in a while and I would really appreciate it!! second u and corykenshin were my fav but the past 2 years ur my top favorite I fill Cory takes advantage of his FAN base and isn't the same personality he started of with when with u ur the same old cju with the best reading voice by the way!!
Thumbs up from me for you, but the game was lacking for me. Thanks!!
Rather extensive number of different styles and technique included in this game. A little light on actual gaming, however this should be pretty impressive on a cv.
a game within a game i love it
Hi Chris
What's with the weird 1950's-esque music?
The in game computer game was made in 1989 so it should be at least 1980's style music, right?
Have you watched the SCP: Chronicles on youtube? they are quite good!
i feel like u were playing a vr game because of the words floating lol
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend going missing :( please keep us updated if any new info comes up. It's really good you're playing the game to keep his memory alive. Is there a number we should call if we find out anything?
I'm pretty sure that intro is the story of the game itself, not something that happened personally to CJU! He just narrated it in first person to heighten the immersion, I think. :)
@@Cerise4697 🤦♀
Wow. I can't believe you thought this was real. He even said "Within those possessions I'm going to find a game", not that he already found a game. If his intro was real he would have to be psychic to know that he was going to find a game. And Chris often does his intros like this one. But I guess we all have our moments.
@@jakebiassa it was a joke… that no one seems to get.
@@Cheshire_Heart There wasn't much indication in the original comment that it was a joke, so i figured it was an honest mistake.
Well that is not an encouraging list of side effects.
Interesting...
