It's all about syncopated displacement between both hands (r L / l R) or the Kick & Hands (KL or LK.... KR or RK) with emphasis or accent on the 2nd note... Simply .. it's like a quick interaction between the hand & kick but u have to pay attention to how it feels.The emphasis or accents are mostly on the E and the A when playing 16th notes .. Eg: 1 Ê + a 2 Ê + a 3 Ê + a 4 Ê + a 1 1 e + Â 2 e + Â 3 e + Â 4 e + Â 1 it's popularly done in Jazz, Swung Funk & Reggae drumming.. Mastering this intentionally takes a lot of practice but will actually make ur grooves & chops smooth & clean.
