Lennox lewis was one of those great heavyweights that fought everyone about-not like current heavyweights who duck and hide from other dangerous heavyweight fighers-
    Lewis was truely great-!!!!!!!

Yes he did, he'd always put it on the line instead of avoiding potentially difficult challengers, they said he shouldn't have fought Ruddock & Golota, yet blew them away, could be guilty of complacency but when focused he was a very good fighter.

Tyson ducked a whole of people unlike Lewis. Lewis fought top contenders Tua, Rahman, Morrison, Briggs, Klitichko, etc. He wanted to fight Riddock Bowe, but Bowe wanted no parts of Lewis. I think the same was Foreman.

Lewis fights are boring. He looks like a monkey starring at eatables in a bowl, lowering his neck. Female boxers can put up a better fight, he fights like a coward. Mostly it is lika monkey fighting to steal food.

Tucker received his mandatory with wins over McCall & Norris, had lost just one fight & never tasted the canvas, yet despite Lewis decking him twice & winning a unanimous decision, he received no credit whatsoever for this victory.
It shows more about a fighter having to grit out a win, as opposed to knocking out a cotton wool opponent inside a round & the odd criticism aside, this was a good victory for Lewis.

    • @kalas2320
      @kalas2320 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes, I think this is another great win by Lewis. When he fought Tyson, his right hand was broken. Probably, this is the better and more experienced version of Tucker.

@@kalas2320 tuckers hand was hurt not broken, this tucker was out of Prime. Tyson fought Prime Tucker. U see here clearly if lewis met tyson before he went to jail lewis would get oneshoted with ease.

@@Ehrle6969 From Boxrec fight report in his interview, "My right hand was broken when I fought him. I knew Tyson couldn’t beat me ..." He fought Tyson on 1987-08-01 and took two years to (I reckon) heal his broken hand. His next fight was on 1989-12-12 and went on unbeaten for 14 fights including the win against Oliver McCall. This Tucker version is definitely not his peak but not too far from the peak imo as there is tradeoff between power and experience. As for the Tyson's what-ifs, I don't have any opinion because it is gonna be an endless debate. But I am quite sure that Lewis will never fear him and that is the most decisive factor in fighting peak Tyson.

Tucker took both the distance. He was truly a reflection of just how tough these "lesser" fighters really were. Tyson and Lewis did not have an easy time, they were just superior fighters who made it look easy.

The commentators don't like Tucker only because he's patient...they want a crowd-pleaser like Tyson. But fortunately for him he does what he knows he needs to do instead of what the talking heads think. Then Lewis demonstrated real maturity in not getting frustrated and going all out. Maybe not the most exciting fight but at the end of the day it's about winning, not entertaining.

There is an abyss between the Pepe Correa's Lewis and the Manny Steward's Lewis.
It's about knowing when you have a gem, a disciplined guy for whatever, but its potential is very far to be exploited.
The misinterpretation of making Lewis a quick KO guy when he had many other ways, not excluding the KO, of dominating a fight.

Same entry music Lewis used for Holyfield--very soothing I must say...It's hard to compare 2 fighters just by looking at them, but Lewis--for as big as he was--seems to be in the same speed ballpark as Larry Holmes. And, in Larry's young years/prime VS Lennox's young years/prime, Lennox was much bigger. It's scary when a fighter is that big, is that fast, has great KO power, was the best cutting puncher of all time, and was one of the greatest power counterpunchers of all time(if his 2 counter-uppercuts connected, it meant that it was over--never saw anyone come close to getting up from those)!

Cooper got him down with a left hook in the 4th round(when Henry had only landed a few big punches before that and AIi was almost gone, too). However, Frazier hit him over and over again and dropped him once in the 15th round. AIi got up and took some incredible punches after the knockdown! Both AIi and Frazier could have been! If you gave them truth serum, what would you find out?! Maybe that's an idea?! But, you never know when the trainer is dirty like that or it's the boxer! Or who knows what?! Once heard Lou Duva was dirty like that and wasn't he close to both Marciano and Holyfield? You never know who is complicit unless you have a smoking gnn(Holyfield supposedly called to acquire some and was caught)...

YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE IN THIS FIGHT HOW GOOD AN OLD TONY TUCKER WITH TONS OF PROBLEMS NOT AS GOOD AS HE ONCE WAS DID AGAINST A LENNOX LEWIS IN HIS PRIME ( THAT RIDDICK BOW WOULD HAVE KNOCKED OUT LENNOX LEWIS THE RIDDICK BOW THAT FOUGHT EVANDER HOLYFIELD THE FIRST TIME!! )
You can also look at Lennox Lewis's performance against an older not as good as he once was evander holyfield versus what riddick bowe did to a younger evander holyfield!! Riddick bowe dominated holyfield and beat him into a pulp. Lenox Lewis could not do that to evander when he was older and not as good!!
Clearly ridicule would have pushed Lennox Lewis backwards he's an amazing inside fighter and he would have ended up knocking out Lennox Lewis with his suspect chin.. showing a couple times against Oliver mccall, rockman who both knocked out Lennox Lewis with one punch!! IF THEY COULD DO IT RIDDICK BOWE WOULD HAVE DONE IT EASILY!!

@@muzikmon2267 For the Bowe/Lewis fight. If that didn't happen, it was not Riddick Bowe or Lennox Lewis fault. It was only Rock Newman fault (Riddick Bowe manager) who wanted to make a lot of money with Bowe fighting average fighter when he was the champ and didn't want Lennox Lewis who was a very riscky fight.
It's difficult to know which was the best of the 2.
They were nearly on the same level and it could go either way.
