Lovely to see the Matsuri mentioned in your podcast's on more than one occasion. Keep up the good work ;)

@driftmatsuri thank you. Matsuri is defiantly an event that has massive interest among the drifting community and we hope to be able to attend one year for sure. Thank you for watching

Great pod guys, difficult to really compare Matsuri to Comp stuff, Matsuri has very little regs and sort of what Matt said about getting the Sunstrip, its nearly a status thing with social media etc nowadays. Anglesey Matsuri was crazy seat time with trains etc when I drifted there about 8 years ago, very open to anyone which as Paul says, can mean someone in a beat up car with not much skill trying to door a half decent car, but as you say Kev, most people know if they can or can't twin so that wasn't really an issue when I went, with minimum regs you will always get that varied driver level.
Comp driving is like the opposite to me, less seat time (usually). Then after a few runs, every run is twinning and practicing a specific line. From going Anglesey and Rocky Matsuri compared to doing a year of Driftcup back in the day. They are very different, IMO. Both good but aimed at different things, I think my driving improved a lot more at the comps than any normal practice day or Matsuri! Look forward to the next one.

    Thanks for the mention boys.
Matsuri for me, exactly what Scott said, you’re sharing the track with your heroes and get the chance to chase them or whatever. And without the comp and risk of not qualifying you get 16 hours of driving, and the atmosphere is electric.
Paul 100% agree with you, the Irish don’t care and they’ll jump on the door of any car with their pro cars. It’s cool.
But yeah I see the risk wrt an expensive car being smashed by a dodgy bmw.
I actually hit Alfie at matsuri last year doing exactly what you said. Luckily no big damage.

@ 😂😂. it’s awesome, one to tick off the list at least once for sure!! Even to just go for the weekend to spectate. But yeah very expensive, entry/travel/20 tyres. Weekenders are ££££, maybe doing the one day you can enjoy the atmosphere a bit more, spectate for a day and save a bit of cash

@laurieproctor3572 problem is if I was going all that way I'd want to drive 100percent lol.
