Unlike many other youtube teachers, Brian does not make a lurid show with all kinds of grimaces and childish recordings, but with him is guitar-pur and learn at a high level to the smallest details and musical connections. Thanks Brian, for another lesson, packed in a great self-composed song.

That's one reason why I love his videos. And there's no annoying ads👍🤗

      Could you explain please?
I think I understand what your mean by "grimaces," the faces ppl get when they're improvising or playing something epic.
But what do you mean by "childish recordings." And what the heck is "guitar-pur?"
I just don't get that part.
I agree that he's a great teacher. The best!

Hi Jeffro, thanks for the question. I don't know if the translation from German to English correctly reflects what I want to express exactly. I mean teachers who, for example, show an exaggeratedly astonished expression in the video when they talk about an extraordinary riff or frown terribly when they show a complicated playing technique. The increase of it is, if they play in addition in each case some appropriate video sequence. In Germany this is like a plague, there are almost only pantomimes among the guitar teachers. And in addition Brian is really an example of objectivity and efficiency. And we agree about that. Greetings from beautiful Nuremberg/Germany.

I played guitar for a year then hit a plateau. I didn't know where to go next and nothing was making sense, so I quit for about a decade. Just started playing again on a whim and this pops up in recommended, and wow. Unintentionally you clicked something in my brain about scales that I just couldn't understand years ago, and the way you demontrate this makes me think I can actually play it, and now I'm more excited than ever to play again. Thank you.

I don’t believe there is another guitar instructor on U-tube that makes learning improvisation with basic chord structure and add-ons so easy and fun! You tie the chords together so clearly that you have made learning improvisation fun and easy! Thank you for your teaching style and explaining the chords as you go! I have progressed leaps and bounds since I discovered your lessons years ago! Now I’m improving and discovering connections on my own! I’m grateful for your channel and am a long time subscriber! 😉🙏😊👌 Active Melody is my favorite tutorial!🎸😎

Brian, you are honestly if not the best, one of the best for improvisation. It’s the way you relate the scale and chords to the improvisation or embellishment. I’m an intermediate player so it’s not difficult, but it does require practice for sure. The pieces you teach are interesting and fun as well. Thanks so much Brian. 🎶👍

this particular lesson has been connecting all kinds of dots for me. it came at just the right time. i feel myself getting better by the day. it's an amazing feeling after stagnating for years. this gentleman is a top notch player and teacher. i've always been a little hesitant about paying for online guitar content, but i'm strongly leaning toward subscribing. i think lessons of this caliber would be well worth $15 a month (or $99 yearly).

I'm working on EP 516 this week and I really like EP 508, and the chromatic blues one. I have Dirty Blues, The Texas Shuffle, and a Soulful Gospel one down pretty solid. All very tasteful compositions. ❤

Brian, am I correct that your particular Martin guitar is a 1993
    Model? Some DT with snowflake
fret markers that they only made
    that one year ? Maybe a D- 93?
Maybe it was a “ quasi custom made model that they semi mass
produced - only a limited number for a year or less? I ask bc I bought that model new back in 93 from Elderly Instruments in Michigan. Still have it. Great guitar. Solid mahogany with I think cedar top ?
