Hey I'll take it if it means we get more decent video game movies. All they need to do at bare minimum is be faithful to the world and characters. Then, improve the writing, and you've got a formula for pretty good movies. Going above and beyond would be great, but I'll take what we've got for now as before we barely had anything, period. The original Mario Bros movie and the original movie Sonic design represented everything wrong with directors. They didn't understand the appeal of the original work AT ALL. Many didn't care to do any research about the series.
Sonic fan or not, it's absolutely _destroying_ Mufasa. It stands as an example of how movie goers will support the movie that loves their fans and gives them what they want, as opposed to... whatever mess Disney is now
I always feel like something is missing from Sonic, like he has the potential to be more badass and less kid friendly. I want that same feeling and vibe I got in the Opening Cutscene in Sonic Unleashed
These Sonic movies were most definitely made for Sonic fans, aka ME. I absolutely loved this one and think it's the best out of the three. THAT BEING SAID, I entirely understand non-Sonic fans not caring/getting certain lines and references. Despite loving Sonic 3, there were a few times that I had to admit it felt like it was dragging a little. But again, as a Sonic fan, I'm so glad that it's doing so well and that Sonic 4 has already been greenlit. Peace out Magnusites.
Honestly I'm almost jealous of the young kids that are getting treats like this as their core childhood memories. I wish *WE* had gotten these movies while we were little and the Sonic Adventures were still fresh!

Was waiting for this review since I have always been aware that Tyrone isn't a Sonic fan. Was interested to see his take disappointing to hear he walked out given the 3rd act has fight scenes similar to Dragonball fights perhaps he would have enjoyed the movie more if he had stayed for that. However as a massive Sonic fan myself and someone whos favourite game in the series is Sonic Adventure 2, i thought this film was absolutely fabulous and handled the lore with extreme love and care, best of the trilogy by far in my opinion because of that. So seems to be a film that will cater more to Sonic fans in particular however I will say this is the first somewhat negative review I have seen.
Saw it today with my wife and 15 year old nephew , everyone else brought kids, and we definitely enjoyed it more especially the last 20 min.. HOLYYYY MOLYYYY

My family and I watched the movie last night and before the movie started, the actual actor who plays “Agent Stone” Lee Majdoub showed up, told us who he is and that he appreciates us supporting these movies and to stick around until the end. At the end and the post credit scenes, people were excited. I thought that was pretty cool. I thought the movie was alright, not great, but my daughters really enjoyed the movie.
I saw it yesterday and thought it was really good!! It was nice hearing people going crazy for a bunch of iconic scenes and characters. Glad to see the people behind Sonic actually listen to the fans.
If your not a Sonic fan the movie probably won’t be much to you. I am insanely happy with this. Soooo many references to the games and they went all out with everything.
There are quite a few cringe moments in this movie, and that keeps it from being great IMO. The Sonic fight scenes were peak cinema. But some of those in between scenes were just no. Jim Carrey did great though

I think this movie was mostly made for fans of the actual franchise. Not solely the movies, but the franchise as a whole. From the "Live and Learn" musical teasers to the backstory of shadow......alot of it is made for true sonic fans, also throwing some kids humor in there. I was going crazy throughout the whole movie, and my inner sonic fan just was having the time of my life!

The story for this movie is based off the Sonic Adventure 2 game which was much less kiddy than the movie. Maria gets shot in the games(•‿•). Getting passed the kid stuff its still a good movie.
This movie was not only for kids but also for us OG sega genesis players. Got most of the Easter eggs. I’m not gonna lie and say that it’s movie of the year material but for the nostalgia mixed with the dragon ball z styled fighting I liked it. But damn Tyrone, you’re tough to impress lol.

Well, yes, I felt the same way about it feeling like more of an obvious kids movie but I still enjoyed it to the point that when I got home, I got on Amazon and ordered the steelbook 4k blu-ray. Freaking expensive for a blu-ray. You walked out of this movie but you didn’t walk out of a movie like Cocaine Bear? Jim Carrey’s best parts were at the end and you missed them. Well, I guess that’s why there’s streaming services.
I went to see this movie with the family yesterday and we absolutely loved it! Some teens were in there telling everybody to wait for the after credits to see another clip. I was actually very impressed. They were standing up shouting at the end. I have to say they nailed all three movies. I can't wait for the next one. I was actually shocked that my kids knew more about sonic than I did. I gotta do my homework

The problem is that Sonic doesn't have his attitude......at first I thought it was the voice actor but I heard some clips from the adventure games and he sounds like the voice actor before Jason Griffith but i grew up on Jason Griffith where it can be campy but still have it's moments of attitude
As a pretty good Sonic fan myself, and having played the game this movie was based off of originally, I give it a 3/5. It was absolutely for children, but the fan service kept me entertained. Keanu also nailed the Shadow character.

It's a good movie, but it should have been longer, the flashbacks for Shadows backstory needed way more time and depth. I wish Shadow was in it more as well.

And I absolutely love Deadpool 1 and 2 but I just didn't enjoy Deadpool and Wolverine I can't put my finger on it? I did enjoy the first two Sonic movies but this one definitely does seem like it's aimed more for children? I haven't seen it yet but that's okay. I can watch children's movies. I like some of them very much!
Jim Carrey absolutely killed it in this movie as Robotnik just like the previous movies.
If only Paramount marketing team was able to give Transformers One the Sonic film hype treatment and didn't mess up.

No matter how average you think Sonic 3 is, you have to agree that it's a billion percent better than any of Disney's recent live-action remakes. 😊

Have a 5 year old, didn't care much for the first ones, maybe a 4 to 6 out of 10. Thought Sonic 3 was a 8 to 9 out of 10 (for a kids movie)
