well thanks for the tips and info Martin. Im 51 yrs old and served in the Military and Law Enforcement and just got into golf 3 seasons ago, 6 mnths out of the yr for me is snow so I call it seasons. All my clubs I went with reg. stiff shaft and have been wondering how to increase my club speed and have been pondering the more flexible shafts and this vid help me to decide about getting new shafts. Thank you.

I'd like to see a cut open Noble Maximus, Left Dash, an AMT, and e9 in an upcoming video.. with the goal of pushing for the best ball that differentiates top speed/power guys from 210 guys rather than keeping the 210 guys in the game with a 230+ guy.

    Love that last "tip" haha.
    Questions for you Martin.
    1) Does a guy have to change how he swings to get the most out of the light whippy driver shaft or can a guy take the same swing he has with a X-Stiff and still see an increase in speed?
    2) Does that light whippy shaft work with an off the shelf head weight (TM Stealth 2 in my case) or does it require lightening the head to work well?
    Thanks!

You Need to adapt your swing as far as I know. I am a mid handicap and for me I needed a lot of time to adjust to different Drivers with different flex types. If you are pretty good with Driver it may differs for you. You may ask your elder women in your Golfclub if you can Test their Driver, they often have very flexible shafts

  • @davidmcnamara3243

IMO : the secret of the golf swing, is to mechanicaly coupled the clubhead, to the rotating mass.
Swing thought : just throw the body mass back, ie getting deeper , with the right hip and then getting taller, with the max shoulder turn.
Your left foot, will be way off the ground, as your body mass falls to P5, ie flexing the shaft with typically 200b plus, without any manipulation.
The golf shaft, then flexes and releases , like a leaf spring , through the div, or past the ball , on the upswing , with the driver 😊

Look, Club speed should be measured from center of the face. THAT is where you want to hit the ball for max inertial energy transfer. Any other point of speed measurement is not accurate. Ball speed is really the best measure as it tells you how well you transferred your swing speed to ball impact, the whole point in first place. From there you can adjust face angle, launch angle, attack angle and smash factor to optimize your flight and distance. You can swing 150 MPH but if the ball only flies 250 yrds, who cares!
