Ahoy everyone!
My name is Nike and I have been living and sailing on my sailboat Karl since 2013. After a massive refit marathon, I finally cast off the lines and learnt to solo sail my 37-foot Reinke Super 10 that I called "Karl". I am publishing videos (at the moment every two weeks) about the ups and downs of living, repairing and sailing my boat.
Since January 2022, I have a new permanent crew member: my furry friend Boga. When I started out, I did not know much about boat repair or solo sailing. Since I am still out there, I hope that my story inspires others, to chase their dreams, even if they might think they are not cut out for it. There is always a way, so I'll see you out there!

Wow, sure is a beautiful place: Meanguera. I can’t wait to see more of what you’ve got to show us from El Salvador. Waters look calm, I wonder how far behind you are on your video posting. I hope for me to one day take to the waters and follow your route.

There seems to be some civic pride, that port captain's office looked really nice, other buildings seemed to be nicely kept at least on the outside. You do have a nice tan yourself, an accomplishment for a pasty white germans. Must be that spanish beer, eh?

Interesting, do they have broadcast television or radio? How are you able to upload to youtube? Does somebody have wifi or is there cell service? I thought I saw a sign for Claro, is it through Claro?
I could think that when the vendor has the decency to wear a mask, to prevent disease, you might respect that, and follow suit
Different countries, different cultures. You absolutely *can't* assume that the locals in another countries does the same thing for the same reasons in your culture, i.e. country.
@@charonstyxferryman It's about wearing a mask to protect the other person... she's a tourist, so should respect the culture that she is invading...if you don't agree, then you're just like her. Disrespectful
There was no obligation to wear a mask at the time of my visit in Honduras. As you can see (if you watch the video) the majority did not wear masks…this was the vendor’s personal decision and my personal decision was not to wear one. I also did not have any symptoms of any kind of disease at that time.
During the pandemic, when and where masks were compulsory, I did wear a mask…if I have a free choice - as everyone at the time of my visit on the island did- then I don’t wear a mask.
IMO, the decision to wear a mask or not (if not compulsory) does not have anything to do with the culture of a place. It’s a very personal decision on how you want to protect ur own health…
Let’s say someone decides to wear a complete suit to protect him or herself from germs - not because it’s compulsory but because of their own personal preference . Am I disrespectful if I don’t mirrow his or her behavior? 🤔
