Mackenzie Longs run was phenomenal, probably the most efficient running ive ever seen from a female collegiate athlete. Great start great execution, great turn over speed and no dip in form towards the last 20meters. If she reading this amazing job.

JaMeesia Ford, Jadyn Mays, McKenzie Long and Kaila Jackson could potentially make a lot of big names US trials very challenging this year, if they maintain form. Ford is looking like one of the best talents since Allyson Felix and Sydney in the American sport,

None of these ladies will factor at trials if history is anything to go by. I guess it depends on their ability to hold this current peak and have something more beyond fumes to run on in a few weeks time.

@@stephentrader9142 We will see. Sprints my main focus and thus outside of Mu and Kipyegon, I pay little to no interest to distance races and competitors. So I cannot speak to the strength of USA competition in those races. Only 2 Americans made it to the men's 100M final. They ran 2nd to last and last. So already they are non factors. In the 200M, there were 3 American entrants. They placed 2nd, 7th and 8th. None ran a sub 20. They will not factor at trials. It is left to be seen what occurs today in the women's races and who will factor at Trials and make the USA team and their performance at the Olympics. i hold out no hope, but perhaps there will be surprises.

The college runners are running faster times because they are competing more than the pros. The pro runners are not competing consistently against their top competitors which is not good because they are not growing their audience. Fans want to see the top runners compete against each other. Too many pros are talking about breaking records instead of constantly competing.

Lyston was given lane 2 because at regionals she qualified on time and it was a time that was near the bottom.
So with an unimpressive qualification she gets a horrible lane.
Similar to Shacarri getting lane 9 at worlds because she qualified on time rather than automatically.
