Good luck as you start your career, I passed out back in 1992 (a lifetime ago) , and I can remember standing at Liverpool Street with another much older driver watching people walk through the barriers. And him saying “What do you think they’re thinking?” “Probably I hope i get a seat, what’s for dinner? I hope we are on time, that kind of thing’. “Exactly, none of them are thinking, does that lad know what he’s doing, will he get us there safe? Don’t let them down son”. I never forgot that.
Tractions will be 745s. In order to become a trainee mainline driver, you need to do at least 1 year on the local/shorter routes like (from norwich) cambridge, lowestoft, great yarmouth and other locations. The 745 is a 12-car EMU Stadler FLIRT train using traction motors. You have the /0 which runs norwich to london and the /1 which is the stansted express. You may have to do a service to/from london in a 755/4, 755/4, 755/3 formation. These run at 7am to london, 10am to norwich and two others in the afternoon. All information is coming from a mainline driver of 10 years (not me, instead a friend). I will update this as more knowledge comes on intercity services
I love greater angila so much that it’s my fav operator in the whole entire world but 1 thing GA please bring the old trains back like class 317 and class 379 and the others please
