You didn't deserve the hate you got for something that happened when you were young! Those people have forgotten the plank in their own eye! It's shocking how VIPKID reacted. Nancy, I give you a lot of points for being so transparent about this. As people grow their online teaching career it is good to pause and see if climbing the ladder at a company feels right in our heart or growing our very own brand that we control is where the universe is calling us. I was so sickened when I heard what happened to you- what was done to you. There are too many people in this world who just can’t seem to do enough to hurt the lives of others instead of trying to make the world a better place. Honestly, with an online community as toxic as most VIpKID communities have become, it seems inevitable (in the world we live in now, anyway) that anyone making a success of themselves will become the target of those who are full of hate and thrive on being vindictive to others. Oh Nancy, I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Unfortunately people will always look for ways to take down successful people. I have always found it so interesting how humans are so unwilling to give people grace and forgiveness for human error yet they are the first ones to ask for it. I just finished 12.5 years teaching ESL at a university. Our program closed due to the lack of students because of Covid-19. My takeaway to myself was, "Don't put all your eggs in the same basket." I really loved my classes and teaching at the university, but I worked all that time to develop a program for someone else. Looking back, the lesson I see is, "along with working for someone else, it is a good idea to work toward creating a job that you OWN. "
Wow. There are so many job changes and unknowns with this year, and I have learned that same lesson in having multiple streams of income. Think of the skills that job has given you & how you can utilize your experience and knowledge with your OWN thing! It is never too late to build a beautiful future & Teaching ESL Online is an excellent place to go! Many teachers are teaching independently, which could be a great fit for you as well! I have watched so many of your presentations and was shocked when I saw your goodbye. You are truly an amazing person, inspirational, energetic, beautiful, optimistic...... I have never completed my mock due to fear. BUT I now have to and hope I can go back and get you presentations. I messed up and did not enter a coach and then could not add anyone. I also watched 2 others, but this hurts me to see you cry & hurting. With your faith, you will do fine and recognize this as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. Mary! Thank you for your comment! Going independent can be scary, but when you feel called to go a certain route I would follow that inspiration! The wonderful thing is you can start small and grow and grow!! You don't to have your own tutoring business on day one, but you sure can start with a few students and grow and learn from there!!!

I’d recently lost my full time job because I had to be off some for chronic illnesses. It does hurt. I’m trying to expand in other areas to work at home and build a speech therapy and tutoring business. So we can do this!!

I thought all along seeing posts on FB there was an attack and it was rooted in jealousy. You are where you are because you worked hard, you are bold and the Lord has led you. He is the biggest part of your journey. There are people that are pleased you no longer work for VIPKIDS and they think they stopped you from being successful, but this won't stop you from living your dreams. Loved all your videos, they helped a lot. The world is crazy right now and there is to much hate in the world, sorry that hate drifts into all that is good. Hate feed off of good people, ideas, values etc. So so sorry this happened to you. My wife and I are history teachers and we have to be so careful because people want to drag down all that is good. We've had some things taken out of context by outside sources. Your amazing, however, I'm worried about VIPkid now.

You need to know you helped me so much with online teaching ESL. I was a stay at home mom of a new baby, with no income when I had to flee a marriage that had gotten to the point of physical danger and abuse. Being able to do this literally helped save my life. Thank you for what all you are doing.

So many times I would walk out of a studio always on a Friday and told I was fantastic...did nothing wrong..thank me for my service..that was your last show. Heavenly Father knew it was necessary...I felt empty, sad, depressed, and more...I had to realize that God is in control....that He had so much more that I couldn't imagine. There is no true joy without these moments...yes the only way we can grow is to know God's love and protection. You are on your journey. He is always with you. Nancy, the first time I watched you I could feel divine love...caring...and I could see your inner light. Move forward...hold your light high...know you are loved by so many...especially me.

I have always found it so interesting how humans are so unwilling to give people grace and forgiveness for human error yet they are the first ones to ask for it. Ps. Your videos were tools that I used to prepare for my interview and mock classes. I've been with vipkid for just over three years now. I just finished 12.5 years teaching ESL at a university. Our program closed due to the lack of students because of Covid-19. My takeaway to myself was, "Don't put all your eggs in the same basket." I really loved my classes and teaching at the university, but I worked all that time to develop a program for someone else. Looking back, the lesson I see is, "along with working for someone else, it is a good idea to work toward creating a job that you OWN. "
Wow. There are so many job changes and unknowns with this year, and I have learned that same lesson in having multiple streams of income. Think of the skills that job has given you & how you can utilize your experience and knowledge with your OWN thing! It is never too late to build a beautiful future & Teaching ESL Online is an excellent place to go! Many teachers are teaching independently, which could be a great fit for you as well! I have watched so many of your presentations and was shocked when I saw your goodbye. You are truly an amazing person, inspirational, energetic, beautiful, optimistic......
I have never completed my mock due to fear.
BUT I now have to and hope I can go back and get you presentations. I messed up and did not enter a coach and then could not add anyone. I also watched 2 others, but this hurts me to see you cry & hurting.

Mary! Thank you for your comment! Going independent can be scary, but when you feel called to go a certain route I would follow that inspiration! The wonderful thing is you can start small and grow and grow!! You don't to have your own tutoring business on day one, but you sure can start with a few students and grow and learn from there!!!

I’d recently lost my full time job because I had to be off some for chronic illnesses. It does hurt. I’m trying to expand in other areas to work at home and build a speech therapy and tutoring business. So we can do this!!

I thought all along seeing posts on FB there was an attack and it was rooted in jealousy. You are where you are because you worked hard, you are bold and the Lord has led you. He is the biggest part of your journey. There are people that are pleased you no longer work for VIPKIDS and they think they stopped you from being successful, but this won't stop you from living your dreams. The entire issue makes me sad as to where are world is going. May your strength come from the Lord who has gifted you. May your light shine in all you do!! Go God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved all your videos, they helped a lot. The world is crazy right now and there is to much hate in the world, sorry that hate drifts into all that is good. Hate feed off of good people, ideas, values etc. So so sorry this happened to you. My wife and I are history teachers and we have to be so careful because people want to drag down all that is good. We've had some things taken out of context by outside sources. Your amazing, however, I'm worried about VIPkid now.

Im sorry this happened. We change over the years and youve come a long way from this. With that said, youve been a light to many so never underestimate the number of lives you have touched. You were my mentor and helped me years ago get this gig. I, along with many other teachers, have been rethinking our position with VIPKID and this incident with you only adds one more nail. While I've loved my time with VIPKID, I have noticed many things I don't agree with here lately and it is causing concern. Im currently building my Outschool classes and looking at a few other avenues and may be ending my VIPKID journey as well. You are destined for greatness. Know that; believe that.

You need to know you helped me so much with online teaching ESL. I was a stay at home mom of a new baby, with no income when I had to flee a marriage that had gotten to the point of physical danger and abuse. Being able to do this literally helped save my life. Thank you for what all you are doing.
