I followed a lot of the tips in this video, especially with the root mother on earth, and I beat the campaign on hardcore on my first try. I went the safe route and made a summons build by finding soul link in rohm since I had very good boy. This made the whole game soooooo much easier because any damage enemies do would be healed almost immediately. I'm now enjoying my new brainless build using nightmare spiral and it is silly. Thx WryHarpy
@@karlkriz508 Yeah, I usually try and re-roll rhom adventures untill I see the giant obelisk tower generate. Since the ring is guaranteed to spawn there I find that usually to be the easiest method of finding it.

part of my hardcore strat was finding a place to grind out important traits with a decent balance of safety and speed. i came up with farming the root cultist dungeon on earth with the root nexus encounters. You can start the encounter and farm summons until they stop spawning without destroying the root nexus, then go back to the checkpoint to reset them and repeat as needed. if you wait until you have 10 guns, it's a good way to unlock sleight of hand too, especially if you haven't upgraded anything yet. with sagestone, talisman of perseverance, maxed elder knowledge, and elixir of enlightenment, i'd get between 4 and 5 trait points between each reset at the crystal. more by luring the summoner elite for more spawns, but after awhile he starts shooting damaging projectiles instead of spawning so it's a bit risky to leave him unattended for too long
Ive been struggeling with hardcore mostly falling from the bridge in the corsus guardian fight or getting 1 shot by the dreamers ball attack hope this guide helps me beat it
Start adventure mode, reroll until you get leto's armor. Start adventure mode again, reroll until you get alchemist ring. Start adventure mode until you get unclean one. Alt kill. Get all gear to at least +5. Easy way to get empowering loop. Just tedious.
@@WryHarpy Yes that is so true. I actually stumbled upon the combo in my first run and it carrys so well you can forget vigor if you are careful enough. Also think of Leto armor as more than doubling your health due to damage resistance build up.

But starting over and having little to no traits, low HP, and stamina to run in boss fights makes a big difference.
Yes, I believe that black rose is acquired upon defeating 100 bosses in the mode. It’s a bit steep, and there is no stat page to see how many bosses you have defeated so far. You just have to keep defeating bosses in the mode until you get it.
Hi. Great videos. I've heard others suggest not upgrading weapons or armor in hardcore as it will keep your gear score at level 1 and because the bosses are always +1 to your gear score , they'll always be level 2. You are suggesting upgrades to armor. Thoughts? have you tried both methods?
When I was writing the part about upgrades, I was not fully certain of the best way to proceed through the campaign while also trying to keep things as easy as possible. The main reason I mention upgrading armor is just to give yourself a little more leeway when it comes to taking damage. I always assumed that the area menu (The small section in the bottom left of the advanced menu for stats, where the white diamond or green/red arrows are) was an indication of area gear score. If it is just visual and gear score does not increase than not upgrading at all would be the way to go. If you hold of on weapon upgrades you can sort of reduce the gear score scaling, but it does overall increase in the end. I have not tried doing no upgrades through the run, perhaps the elemental resistances on consumables would be enough in certain boss fights. I am unsure how to actually check gear score of an area manually, perhaps a program like cheat engine would let me view the actual scaling of the area.

This makes the necklace actually good for almost every weapon combination! As for the shattered vertebrae, I tend to run it with automatic weapons.
