  • I found this old two stroke toro on Facebook marketplace awhile back. I can't remember what the previous owner said but I do know it had sat for awhile. thanks for following along as I try and breathe new life into this old mower. God bless you and in case you don't know. Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of mankind. he did it to save you. he wants to be lord and Savior of your life. repent and accept him for eternal life.

    I would own one if I could afford buying a used one. I used a couple of those when I mowed lawns all over Omaha several years back. They still seem to bring an almost “new price” even though they’re years old now. Appreciate you sharing this! Stay Blessed brother! From a fellow Brother in our Lord! Jesus in fact does save! Mark, Amen it really brings me joy when whatever message the lord gives me to share helps someone. He's done so much for me. God bless you as well. I got this toro for twenty bucks. They are out there you just really have to search them out. They have held their value because they're really isn't anything quite as good made today. I love these mowers. The sound alone makes them worth having to me.

      I was waiting for someone to make this comment 😂 yeah I shouldn't have done that. This one has a blade clutch so the engine runs separately from the blade so that's why I got by with it but yes your right because anything can happen. Thank you for watching I really appreciate it..God bless you

      @@gregsmowersandmore5878 I noticed it too and almost left a story. Well here it is. I have a near identical Toro with the same blade clutch. 2yrs ago after I replaced the blade brake part of the clutch and the machine was functioning perfectly. I had been using it for a month without issue. One day after mowing I shut it off, engine and everything. After it was off for 15-20 seconds I began to lift and the blade bit my fingers. Chopped through my fingernail and into the flesh under the nail. Again the mower was not running!
      I installed the cable with the spring that goes to the blade clutch arm on the top of the deck upside down and under vibration it had worked its way nearly out of the hole. It was now holding the arm with the tip of the "U" bend instead of the middle of the "U" as it is supposed to. It was now holding extra tension on the blade brake that stops the blade. It allowed the blade to spin silently after the mower was shut off. I did reverse that spring(open end faces up!) and that issue has never presented itself in the two years since.
      I nearly lost two fingertips learning that lesson. Took the whole summer of 2021 for them to heal.

      @@gregsmowersandmore5878 PS. Your blade clutch cable spring is in the correct position in this video. I had mine with the open end facing down when my mower bit me.

      I about had a heart attack too when he did that!!!. Always a chance that something mechanical will fail, like the blade clutch!!!

    Good morning, Greg... and God bless you too!
    This appears to be a model 20684 with the BBC (blade brake/clutch). I have the 20672, which is similar but uses the Tecumseh TNT100 4-cycle engine instead.

    You need to get a petrol siphon Greg - no need to tip the mower to empty the tank 🙂

      That's so cool that you have the same one. I plan on keeping this one around awhile and seeing how it does mowing my yard this spring. I may replace the buttercup with it since it's self propelled. Thanks for being a faithful watcher Veb. I appreciate you and I really hope you enjoy your weekend. God bless

    In inflation adjusted dollars those were high dollar machines when new. Now we know why: they last.

    • @WisconsinEric
      @WisconsinEric 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They were about $600 new. Adjusted for inflation that is well over $1,200 in todays funny money. I have a '91 Recycler with the same blade clutch Suzuki 2-cycle. The cast aluminum deck is identical but mine has the plastic recycler "kickers" installed from the factory. Toro sold an add on recycler kit for the mower in this video. It included the plastic kickers, a mulching blade, and mulch plug for the chute.

      @@WisconsinEric that's for sure a large chunk of change. I've had a few with the add on peices. Sure is a great system and great mowers. Can't beat the sound of the exhaust either in my opinion. Thank you for watching. God bless you

      @@gregsmowersandmore5878 A lot of guys say that is the best engine ever put on a mower and I agree, but I would like to add that it also has the best cutting deck and the best transmission on a consumer mower. You may want to check the grease in that transmission tho. I drain the gas and flip the mower upside down onto the recoil, then remove the bottom cap(facing up with the machine upside down) off the transmission. Old dried grease can make for difficult shifting. Specs for grease are on Toro's site but I think it was common #2 grease inside the transmission.
