This is a pretty solid guide for beginners. Well done! If you allow some comments/suggestions: 1) Salvaging your gear is ALWAYS preferred to selling it. You will never have any gold problems (15h into seasons you'll have 1B+). The materials however are very useful: reroll gear for better stats (see point 3), craft legendaries you need for your build in the cube (see point 4), converting into other materials you do need and much more. Materials >> Gold. 2) Watch build guides on youtube for a general understanding of what stats/gear is useful and what is not (BigDaddyDen for Witch Doctor, Zhanji for Meta (optimal) builds for each class, Rhykker for interesting game mechanics etc) 3) Use the Mystic (the re-roll lady, 1 of 3 artisans). You can always reroll 1 undesired stat to a desired one per item. Example: You are a Wizard and you found the gloves you need. However, they do not have Cooldown Reduction (useful for Wiz) but Life per Hit (Useless). You will find her in the hometown of every act. 4) Once you've hit lvl 70, I would advise you to get the cube (4th artisan that allows you to do many many sweet things). Visit Act 3 Ruins of Sescheron and find it. For what you can do with it, have a look at this guide: us.battle.net/d3/en/game/guide/items/kanais-cube Spoiler example: You have found a ring (Ring of Royal Grandeur) that has a very interesting power: You need only 3 or 5 items belonging to any one set to get the full 4/6 piece bonus that the set provides. Unfortunately, you cannot wear the ring since you REALLY want the damage increase from the 2-ring set you are currently wearing. If only there was a way to use the power without actually equipping the ring...
Yep, I do agree to some extent with all of these points! Thing is, this guide is more intended to fill in the holes in Blizzard's terrible tutorialisation of D3 and explain some extremely basic things which aren't obvious to new players - I've tried to stay away from talking about anything that you don't absolutely need to know before endgame. Your comment is useful for slightly more advanced players, but it fits a different scope than this guide. Your first point - it's definitely fair, but I can't count the number of times I've been more desperate for gold early on in a new season. That actually might be a more advanced thing, though - generally early in a season you need gold to upgrade the Blacksmith to keep up with your level (and finish Chapters), while new players might not have that problem so much. Just billing it as an option, that's all :)
I was a Hardcore StarCraft player since the being. I just try Diablo 3 the Reaper of souls. I was overload by the game itself. I love the technology advancements that were made, it blew me away. I do love this game if you love StarCraft or Warcraft you really love this game. I cannot believe how much progress was made it game . Any game Blizzard has made I say but it! Your video was very helpful and I went out and bought Diablo 111:-)
Thank you for starting at the beginning! I just took advantage of the summer sale, got a copy of Diablo. There are a lot of helpful videos out there, but they're more for experienced players. I was getting discouraged, but then I found this. Thanks again.
I’m new to Diablo, having just bought it yesterday, and this really helped. All the other guide video talk to you like you’ve played the other games. When I want a beginners guide, I mean a “BEGINNERS” guide. Not a veterans guide lol. Thanks for the help 👍
Great guide - just bought the game in the black Friday sale and made a start with a Barbarian. This guide has been really informative as a fresh/new player. Thanks
I got the game just yesterday on Switch and played it with my pals for the first time. I am a witch doctor whereas my friends are melee classes (monk and barbarian respectively) and all this time I thought the Weapon Damage number didn't matter at all since I attack with frogs and dogs and not my weapon. Just after watching this video I figured out how to turn on Detailed Tooltips and boy oh boy my world changed. I also had no idea that that was what Elective Mode worked! Jesus christ that opens the potential for so many more builds I'm so fucking happy right now! This was a really great video for someone like me.
Just picked this up a few hours ago. Watching this as it finishes installing and I feel like I now have a much better idea of what to be doing than any other guide. Thank you bro, now I can pass these tips on to my mates!
Hey Yewb, this is your best Dutch friend a.k.a. Tim here. Big up to you as I just saw this video trending, this is one of the best videos out there explaining Diablo to beginners. It is such a shame Blizzard decided to put all their resources into porting Diablo to mobile phones as I'm convinced Diablo 4 on PC has so much potential. Anyway, to any new players watching, this is your go-to guide and I have done some extremely difficult in-game events with the OP so he knows what he is talking about.
Thank you so much for this. About to play diablo 3 for he first time on switch in a few weeks. I played diablo 2 for years but skipped diablo 3 on oc because of the always online shit. Very keen for it now though.
The best and *only* useful guide to actual beginners of diablo 3. All other videos say they're for beginners then start mouthing off names of legendary gears one after the other in rapid succession.
Great guide, nice and simple. Most guides that attempt to help beginners are too confusing for a lot of new players, but this video did a fantastic job! Just subscribed!
This is great! Just got this for the first time as a pre-owned. I've been reading the wiki for a few days and haven't seen a lot of the content here like shared progression.
Good guide, thanks! It was great, how do you not have more subs? Seriously. My only complaint was that the audio was a little quiet. Also, if you don't mind my asking- what is your accent called? It sounds 'British' but that doesn't mean a lot considering there seems to be a distinct accent for every block of London. Sounds like Tom Scott.
Thanks, really appreciate it! :) I'm from Devon, England, and my natural accent is a short hop from Pirate, but I've lived all over the place and now it's just a mush of everywhere in south England.
Crazy that this guy is playing it on a PC from 2 years ago and it seems to stutter and have trouble here and there, but that the Switch has no problems at all. Technology moves so fast! Thanks for the video, I didn’t think I was a complete n00b, but I may in fact be one because I learned a lot!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I will say, though, my PC is not exactly high-end, and it was a couple years old even when this video was made - and bear in mind I was also running recording software, which chews through memory. Most PCs these days should have no trouble running D3 either :)
Yewb I didn’t think about the recording software, that’d definitely slow down the FPS! No judgement on my end, your PC is handling it better than the PC I initially played it on!
very good video. I'm a brand new Diablo player of just a couple days now and the I got a lot out of this video. Also you did the best job at explaning why I need elective mode on. I thought it basically just allowed me to change my button layout based on what others said. Now I see how much of a game changer it is. I can have multiple of the same type of abilities. very awsome.
Thanks! Yeah, back when I first found out about Elective, my first thought was "why didn't Blizzard tell me how important this is?" - because it's absolutely mandatory if you want to play this game well. Glad I could help!
Thank you very much for this guide! I just bought the game and leveled a bit, then decided to learn a few things about game and boom! Your video popped up and thanks to you, now i know new things. Keep up the good work pal! =)
I am new to this game but not to game world. I been around since first videos. Now in saying that I find this game can be overwhelming for new players like myself. I do love game and the technology in game is just wow. The game artificial intelligence blow my mind! If I was young person this would be my only game I need. I love all the Characters and each has their own greatness. Thank you again and you video I give it 4 star out 5 you did good as teacher. :-)
nice video! very articulate and to the point, I've been thinking about buying diablo 3 but still not taken the plunge still deciding currently but it looks like a game I could get lost in!
Teh Floppy Dustbin well it depends if it just a weapon it would do the same damage wether it is your primary or secondary but if it is an offhand it doesn't effect you main weapon but more boosts it
Section at 3:01 goes into it. I'd suggest starting on Normal *if* you don't have any experience with action-RPGs, and moving up to Hard as soon as you feel comfortable. If you've played similar games in the past, start out on Hard.
I haven’t been interested in these type of dota esque games i have took an interest a week ago and I’m contemplating if I would like this game and if would enjoy and have fun with it. I have never played anything like this so some advice would be great
This game is nothing like Dota. It's an action RPG, meaning fast-paced, reflex-based gameplay with a focus on the accumulation of power over time (e.g. gear progression). If that appeals to you, it might be worth a shot, but that's about all I can say!

Here is the guide to diablo 3. It's fucking easy as fuck, pick a build on the ladder and you are set lol. This game is so easy and casual it ain't even funny
I’m playing Diablo for the 1st time and on switch. I needed this
I have watched untold number of videos trying to figure stuff out; this video has given me more information than all others combined.

Yewb so its a bit like destiny then lol

The blacksmith part is like a rpg loot mgmt basics guide
Is weapon damage important to a caster class like wizard?
Yes, absolutely. All damage in D3 is expressed as a percentage of weapon damage, which is then modified by your other stats; that applies to spells as well as physical attacks.
@@YewbPlays Thank you! Great video btw
sweet guide dood
Very useful, thanks :)
ive been playing for a couple of days but struggling to move forward
is it possible to buy reaper of souls DLC without first buying the game?
No, you need the base game in order to play RoS.
Thanks for this.
the necrophiliac is prob my fav cladd
I’m level 30 should I be selling all the blue and yellow gears I get ?
Salvage it (white gear too). Only sell it if there's something specific and immediate you need - the only thing I can really think of is if you need to upgrade the Blacksmith to gain access to a crafted weapon that's significantly better than the one you're using.
Yewb and what about cubing gear? Don’t have cube yet but I heard u could use it for enchantments
Thank you !
So what is the other non story mode about it confuses me with torment and rifts
Torment is the endgame difficulty - the first four (Normal through Master) are primarily for levelling, and you'll want to be on Torment (or at least Master) when you start doing endgame content.
Rifts are a huge topic in and of themselves, but they're basically the randomly-generated dungeons that constitute the majority of endgame content. Completing Nephalem Rifts will reward you with Greater Rift keys. The difficulty of Greater Rifts isn't based on the difficulty you play on, but is a separate timed challenge.
So is this like a co op game or an mmorpg?
Single-player action RPG, although you can absolutely play co-op or groups as well.
Help what dose enchant do can you lose your wepo
Where is my skill game located on a disk. Diablo 3 all I have is seasonal, challenges and difficulty.
Mine does not have skills

How the hell do you start new game plus once you beat it
There is no NG+ in this game - you may be referring to Adventure mode, which can be accessed from the character select screen
Thank you
I personnaly can only play the Wizard
All the other ones are too difficulté for me
Diablo III, aka Confusion: The Videogame
Is this game still worth playing?
I mean, I like it - I can't tell you whether you will! There's a demo version you can try out, I think, but it's unlikely to reflect endgame content.
Thanks, I was thinking of buying it, for some reason I've never got round to it. Your vid has helped though. Just wasn't sure if the servers were dead or anything like that :) ty
