30y old single mom of a toddler. This just happened to me in my shower. This the greatest video I've found. I watched this before I ordered the replacement part. It helped me so much. I'm following this. THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES I can't explain how helpful this was!
Does the clip fit if your using the 1200? I can’t get it back in and I’m using the brass one, lowes only had them. I know they’re interchangeable but the clip now doesn’t fit anymore
A new moen single handle faucet will be more than $30. However I will agree you can buy an entire faucet and drain from a store brand for $30. That faucet will not be half the quality of this 30/40 year old moen faucet. It’s worth it to repair as long as the finish is good because the old faucet is much higher quality than anything you could buy today.
Say chief, I can't help but wonder... Did someone else own the home before you..? Could this person have worked on this faucet himself. ? Your mystery part that allegedly possessed a 1/16th set screw... Well I don't know about this mystery fastener, but the threaded "nut" if you will, looks identical to a Carburator Jet. Indeed, the size of that center hole is machined to allow a very specific amount of gasoline from a Carburator bowl to mix with the air present to provide the exact amount of "mixture" for an internal combustion engine to run perfectly. So it looks like you may have the world's first carb jet installed in your Moen. Haha...🤔
Thank u so much ...u saved me so much money. Blessings to you, thank you again!! May God repay u

Super helpful video! Just replaced the cartridge in my mid-century faucet, THANK YOU!
I replaced a couple of these that were very old, I bought the puller I am glad I did, using it puts far less stress on everything when you remove it.
thanks
Those brass 1200 cartridges are a pain I replace these with the plastic 1225 cartridges and never had a problem
Nice job!!
Thanks!

Standard hex keys go down to 0.028 inch. Best not to question technical standards outside your limited experience, as if you know how things work.
