I’m new to Azur Lane, so Imma ask, where are the guys at? Like at this point it looks like this world is only populated by females. Like, where have all the good men gone and where are all the guys?
This "world" you speak of is actually a part within the military sector which is closed off to the population, much like Area 51, but in a much larger area in a part of the ocean. That is because the shipgirls were created using technology utilised and weaponised by the military and world powers to combat the Siren threat, who wiped out most of their conventional ships and planes when they first appeared. While the shipgirls appear to have sentience and capable of fitting in socially with other people, they were still regarded as living weapons, and thus restricted from public interaction. The reason they assigned the Commander in Azur Lane is to ensure that they will be as combat ready as possible through sorties and military exercises which requires the Commander's request to the higher ups outside the Azur Lane area, and better prepare shipgirls to communicate properly with a human (As you no doubt notice, most of them were struggling with one human, imagine how wrecked they'll be in public).

At best you can see this in the German "KMS". The Prinz Eugen is named after the prince of savoya, however in German the ship is always called DIE Prinz Eugen. Die in German is an indicator for something being female.

@@YogSothoth620 Yeah, the first anime (Azur Lane: The animation) was terrible, it had nothing with the in game history and the animations... God forbid Yohstar for doing that... The second anime (Slow ahead) is much better in quality and good for who likes SoL genre, but personally I hate it, I prefer battles and pewpew than just "cute girls doing cute things". So concluding, the first anime was terrible and the second one besides not being terrible, wasnt for everyone.

Both this and the Global Anni Animations really feel like these girls have earned this time of peace, love, joy, and hope. They really earned it after so many years. Finally uniting for real under one banner, after Bismarck does the near-impossible. A good rest and cherished moment after the first true major victory... And a calm before the storm before we have to deal with the nightmare that is Bon Homme and the Leviathans. Still hoping by next year we finally get Purity on our side for real, so she can join in these. Also, Bismarck is so effing cute in her barista outfit
Goes to show that Bismarck found the good in her and not the all mighty evil villain that some painted her to be. I enjoyed the last battle when she returned at the end of the event of Rondo at Rainbow's End.
This was GIGA beautiful. Also, the fact, they showed even more Friedrich der Grobe, Bismarck in her WAITER skin and even IMPERO gives me hope for those characters that so far never had any screentime or the underlooked sides of them.

When the anime pv made by Yostar has far better quality than the studio that adapted the AL anime. Shorts or not, it all depends on effort and funds. Can't deny the fact that AL anime was dissapointing and a cluster bomb of confusion. The community expected it to follow the game's story but that studio decided to go on their own way, like seriously.....Kaga's giant fox? Carriers rides on their own plane to fly? Fused BB and CV Orochi? Eugen can fly too and she didn't even use her guns to fire but her shark rigging instead? Enty half META awakening? Yostar and Manjuu: fine, we'll do it ourselves!
