Hello @matilda, Mrs. Kabugo gives the reasons in the video but to reiterate - With the battery cage system, its easy to manage the poultry farm, to ensure hygiene and prevent diseases plus it saves space.
In a battery cage system, regular removal of chicken droppings is essential for bird hygiene and to prevent waste buildup that could lead to unpleasant odors in the coop. To manage ammonia, ensure proper ventilation, use suitable litter, and control nitrogen-rich waste levels. Adequate ventilation is vital for dissipating ammonia and other odor-causing gases.
The best quality chickens are free range raised, not in cages. A healthy egg, the yolk is not supposed to be yellow but orange like the sun at sunset. I appreciate the hygiene though.
HELLO! I I have 1000 layers but am getting achallenge of poor quality feeds. The layers are dropping interms of eggs per day. which feed are you using?
