"в" - typically used for enclosed spaces (with walls) "на" - typically used for open spaces The sentence: "Мы готовим еду в духовке и на плите." Кстати, я раньше никогда не увидел батарею. Они популарьные в России? То ест, в каждом дома/карватире есть батарея?
In Russia we have "centralised heating system" and this heater (батарея) is part of it. Basicly we have all the heaters in a dustrict conected to waterheating station and Hot water circulates within this system. It's demanded by law that if company builds an aparment building building should be equiped with батареи.
Hi Fedor, I've recently started using your videos to learn Russian and am finding them really useful. I feel I should return the favour in a small way and point out one slight error in your English. When you are talking about your shelf the word 'untidiness' is better in this case. Untidiness means unorganised (unorganized U.S English) whereas 'uncleanliness' means either unhygienic or if it was covered in dust or dirt etc.
This should not surprise you. Back in the 19th century, the French language was the language of the aristocracy in Russia. Therefore, in the Russian language a huge number of borrowings from French. Separately, I must say about the "televisor". Back in Soviet times, we used SECAM system as in France.
I read someplace that Swedish and Russian have some words in common. I learned today that шкаф means cupboard. In Swedish, the word is skåp. Associating Russian words with something I already know helps me learn them, but mostly I can't associate anything, so this is difficult.

"O" becomes an "A" when is not pronounced like с*о*бака (s*a*bàka). But when it's pronounced then stay as a "O". For example: Мн*о*го (mn*ó*ga). I hope you understood!

You maybe have mistaken about roots of word "window" -" prozor". It has common slavic root "prozor" - "прозор(ий)" - "прозрачный" - "transparent" (in english). Pendzer is a adopted word from turkish "pencere". In Bulgarian window has the same meanings: "prozorets" - "прозорец" (standard language) and "пенджур" (pendzur/pencere) or "джам" (djam/cam) (dialects, adopted from turkish) P.S. I don't have turkish letter "c" for "dj" sound ag my keyboard.
I agree. If only Fedor took the time to show the way your mouth is meant to be shaped when saying the words and he said key words slowly to emphasised the correct way to learn Russian words then we could pick it up faster. Plus, when you think about it, a parent teaches a child through mimicry and by teaching the child to watch the mouth as they are taught the words through repetition and slow pronunciations.
