First time I saw this group performed was in 2006 at Sweden Rock Festival. Had no idea who they were, just saw the name in the setlist of artists saying Dragonforce. They were formed in London, England in 1999, the only two founding members that still remain are the two guitarists, Herman Li and Sam Totman. The singer in this music video is Z.P. Theart. The current singer is called Marc Hudson and has an amazing voice too.
And what's to add: DragonForce's real mainstream breakthrough that put them and this song at the spot where they are bathing in sunlight right now happend because Through the Fire and Flames was THE bonus song of Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, its hardest song and something that blow up to more than a meme in the shortest of time. if you like the muppet show than you will like Marc .... in the early days they were called "studioforce" bc the overall live experiance wasn´t that great, and they only sounded good on the CD mosty due to alcohol and smoking, especially ZP had (he overcame it and is very successful with a band calles Skid Row) a massive alcohol problem back in the days, but he wasn´t the only one in the band who had issues. But they had some awesome live shows as well, not every show was aweful :D They even put out a Live album which is worth a listen to me he was the heart and soul of he band and i lost interest in them after he left

The band was formed in 1999 by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, and are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics and retro video game-influenced sound. It was probably 2009 or 2010 when I learned about them; "Through the Fire and Flames" was the final (boss) song of "Guitar Hero: Metallica" game, lol. Also guitarist Herman Li does live Twitch streams, I watch him time to time.
I saw these guys in concert and they actually had a mini trampoline on stage that one of the guitarists jumped onto, was absolutely mad and a really fun gig!

Got to see these guys last year - they played at a local roller disco rink, and the place was packed! A Japanese all girl group called Lovebites was in support, and they were pretty awesome too. Dragonforce did a cover of Celine Dions "My Heart Will Go on" - well worth checking that out :)
Dragonforce is a band from 1999, my dear Grannies! And they are still on active till this day, with a different vocalist, but which is also great in my opinion. Dragonforce is by far one of my favorites, I love their music since I played this TTFATF on a game called Guitar Hero 3 back in 2008, awesome times
This song got famous because it was the hardest song on the video game Guitar Hero, it's known as Power Metal which is basically fantasy inspired like dragons and lightning and stuff like that mixed with Nintendo and Iron Maiden. As you can tell it's very triumphant sounding and operatic. The exposure on the game and the difficulty in playing it inspired a whole generation of guitarists who wanted to be super technical at the instrument.

This was great! If you love fast guitar playing, you should check out The Dillinger Escape Plan doing Farewell, Mona Lisa; they show their whole range in that video. Lars Ulrich from Metallica even talked about them in a documentary, very cool!
Dragonforce toured the UK last year, and they handpicked a band called Lovebites to support them. Lovebites are an all-female Japanese band who sing in English, dress in cute white outfits and blow you away with their speed, power and melody. I'd recommend that to start with you check out one of their official videos, one of either Rising, Shadowmaker or Where Destinies Align would be best.
They're truly an international Super Group, they have members from America, Australia, South Africa and the UK. Herman Li, the guitarist is one of the fastest on the entire planet.

It was originally called speed metal, however Herman Li the asian guitarist, (I didn't say lead because Sam Toteman does a lot of lead work too, so I'd say they are both lead guitarists) says they like to call it "extreme power metal". Their new vocalist is also very good, worth checking out Heart Demolition if you read this far.

This is power metal. There are a lot of bands in this genre some funny, some serious, but they usually involve fantasy themes. By far the best of the best is Blind Guardian. Their singer is probably the best singer in world and their songs are usually about stories. I recommend from them "Battlefield" as an introduction, "And then there was a silence" as a masterpiece (it's a retelling of the Trojan wars) and the live version of the Bard's song - in the forest and Valhalla at Wacken to see just how amazing their fans are. Keep up the nice reactions. I love that you are actually enjoying all these bands.
Some more ideas for you: Pantera - Domination (Live in Moscow) or cowboys from hell, Suicidal tendencies - You can't bring me down, Rammstein - Feuer Frei or Du Hast, Skid Row - Slave to the grind, Testament - Electric crown. Mostly 90s stuff but all good. Keep rockin', grannies :D
Had a lock in with these guys back in 2005. Had to turn off all the lights on the bar and sit quietly for a minute while the police passed outside. Good craic, sad to see ZP isn't with them any more.

100% true. Unfortunately the lead singer who was originally from South Africa has since left the band and been replaced by another Brit. But he's awesome, so no complaints.

This singer is the orignal guy his name is ZP Theart (ZP De Villiers Theart) he left the band due to differences of musical opinion. The singer they have now is Marc Hudson who joined in 2012, this song came out 2005 ish. Anything from the power within onwards is Marc
This particular song was popularised far more-so by the video game 'Guitar Hero'. It was the hardest song to play on the original Guitar Hero game back in 2005

Dragonforce have been around since the late 90s, based in London. The singer on this track, ZP Theart left the band in 2010 and the band then held auditions for a new vocalist. Enter Marc Hudson. This is a band I've seen live countless times, they really are incredible live. Please check out more of their music, reactors always seem to watch this one then forget to react to any other tracks. Oh and Herman still has very long hair 😉

It was originally called speed metal, however Herman Li the asian guitarist, (I didn't say lead because Sam Toteman does a lot of lead work too, so I'd say they are both lead guitarists) says they like to call it "extreme power metal". Their new vocalist is also very good, worth checking out Heart Demolition if you read this far.

This is power metal. There are a lot of bands in this genre some funny, some serious, but they usually involve fantasy themes.
By far the best of the best is Blind Guardian. Their singer is probably the best singer in world and their songs are usually about stories.
I recommend from them "Battlefield" as an introduction, "And then there was a silence" as a masterpiece (it's a retelling of the Trojan wars) and the live version of the Bard's song - in the forest and Valhalla at Wacken to see just how amazing their fans are.

Dragon force actually wrote the guitar parts for BabyMetal for road to resistance.
Some more ideas for you: Pantera - Domination (Live in Moscow) or cowboys from hell, Suicidal tendencies - You can't bring me down, Rammstein - Feuer Frei or Du Hast, Skid Row - Slave to the grind, Testament - Electric crown. Mostly 90s stuff but all good. Keep rockin', grannies :D
Had a lock in with these guys back in 2005. Had to turn off all the lights on the bar and sit quietly for a minute while the police passed outside. Good craic, sad to see ZP isn't with them any more.
