We were raised catholic and from a small boy I had troubles with what I read in my Bible and what I saw and heard in the church. As I got older, I learned the truth about the sabbath and shared it with my mother. At first she thought that I had gotten involved with a religious cult. In an effort to stear me back, she studied it out for herself and was convinced that I was right. She then set up a meeting with the "pastor" of the catholic church and he confirmed all of this. The changing of the Sabbath, everything. She too left the church.
The GREATEST HELP that can be given our people is to teach them to work for God, and to depend on Him, NOT ON THE MINISTERS. Let them learn to work as Christ worked. 7T 19 “If these men had looked away from self, and stopped thinking of self, if they had gone to work like men, putting heart and soul into the work, their temptations would have been scattered to the four winds.” 1LtMs Lt 97 “The MINISTERS must be CONVERTED before they can strengthen their brethren. They should not preach themselves, but Christ and His righteousness. A REFORMATION is needed among the people, but it should first begin its purifying work with the MINISTERS.” 1 T 469
