The Path to Peridia is an ancient map of hyperspace routes not only within the galaxy, but, evidently to other galaxies as well. It seems to follow the migratory patterns of Purgill (space whales) The Purgill are the creatures that took Ezra and Thrawn away. So, its a map to follow Purgill, in hopes of finding Ezra and Thrawn
So i find matt's reaction to the scene between Hera and Ashoka at the end very interesting. He got frustrated at it because while he hasn't seen rebels he knows about it. so he assumed he is simply missing some kind of insider knowledge from not having seen it rather than treating like someone watching a new hope for the first time with no knowledge of star wars where Ben kenobi is talking about having fought in the clones wars and his father being a jedi and his former apprentice darth vader. it is a HUGE infodump scene but if you know nothing about star wars you just accept it as the infodump it is. but knowing that rebels exists the assumption of not having gotten that data from rebels prevented accepting the scene as an infodump and assumed it was just stuff i dont know. i saw him getting really upset about that (Sorry matt im not trying to pick on you) where as when i've watched newer viewers watch this the big take away from this scene was "She was anakin's apprentice?!?!" the Ahsoka Sabine stuff was just more stuff they dont know about their relationship and most didn't really react to it much cuz they are still trying to learn who these characters are much less their history. and melissa's reaction is like most of us who have seen all those shows which is what happened between them? what did ahsoka do to cause all this tension between them? when did this all happen? For me i was shocked because from the trailers i thought it was Sabine who ended things between them cuz she wanted to stay on lothal to protect it. So i was kinda surprised to learn that ahsoka just walked away and that sabine was invested enough in the training that it really hurt her when she walked away like she did. so it was almost better not know a little bit of knowledge about rebels and to come in blind than to have some knowledge and potentially get frustrated to have not learned enough before hand.
Qui Gon took a dual bladed to the solar plexus. I feel like they went for a less lethal place with Sabine. The lethality of light sabers is still shown in full effect with the opening scene on the ship.
Very much so. Again I will point out that the type of inquiry saving suffered only had a 12.8% mortality rate. That's why it's a common troupe because whether its a lightsaber, a sword, or a gunshot, your almost certainly gonna live unless you don't seek it medical attention or date delayed from getting Medicaid attention. Qui Gon had both his spine and aorta completely severed. He had no chance to survive his injuries certainly not after having to wait several minutes for Kenobi to cut maul in half
The timeline is as such. Rebels starts 5 years before a new hope and ends the year before it. Then there is a time jump. That time jump is 9 to ten years after a new hope. So it had been 10- 11 years since the finale. The epilogue were see in rebels was remade in live action that we see at the end of part 2
more likely the eye of scion is a HUGE hyperspace transport ring. small ships that don't have a hyperspace drive need to use it in order to use hyperspace. we see one used in attack of the clones when kenobi uses to hyperspace out to somewhere. given the size of it, it is likely meant for the Thrawns flagship the Chimera
I believe a map to find Luke was needed cuz he was in the uncharted regions which apparently is difficulty to navigate unless you know the exact route you need to take.
in case you missed it in other places the use of the word scion has a couple of different meanings. although i do like the tie in to the eye of sauron. but the word scion is another word for an heir. as in the heir to the empire. aka Thrawn. There is another fun star wars connection. Scion is the name of Sith Lord from the the Knights of the Old Republic 2 game. Kotor 1 & 2 are very popular and Filoni has slowly been recanonizing aspects of them over the years.
that is an interesting theory about Shin being his daughter. though she would likely have come after order 66 and jedi weren't exactly known for hooking up and having kids. but it certainly might have found a partner and had a kid. or she might just be a foundling and that he has taken in and trained.
it should be pointed out that whatever the heck happened between ahsoka and sabine in the 9-11 years since the end of rebels, it was big enough that the Governor of Lothal had heard about it and what he heard made him think he needed to tell sabine that she should hear her out, rather than dismiss her out of hand. there is obviously a lot of history between them, but ryder knew about it. and he knew that ahsoka seems to be a fault but i guess after talking to her while they waited for sabine to show up he learned that what she had to say was important so he told her to listen to what she has to say. So unless Sabine and Ryder got close and Ahsoka walked out on Sabine it might be something that people talked about. then again they might actually be famous for what they did in rebels and may have quasi celebrity stats, (or at least on lothal) so maybe the news reported on it or maybe just the tabloids. So not Totally out of the realm of possibility that Baylan might now about her apprentice
here is a quote from the national institute of health regarding penetrative abdominal wounds: "The mortality rate (14.9%) in patients presenting gunshot wounds (GSW) was significantly higher than (2.7%) that of patients with stab wounds (SW) (p = 0.000)." I can't find the source right now but one of the other articles i saw stated that 25% of these kinds or injuries are non-surgical. so about 1 out of 4 people who get stabbed in the gut (again assuming no vital organs or veins/arteries were hit) can be treated without having to perform surgery. So it really isn't as critical as you guys seem to think it is. not in the real world and certainly not in a world with bacta tanks. I almost certainly HURTS LIKE FREAKING HELL, but its something you can survive. especially if you aren't worried about them bleeding out. the reason for this is that most penetrating abdominal trauma affects the bowels, colon and liver. most causes of death is due to either blood loss or infection. lightsabers actually prevent either of those two things from happening. Thanks to the Cauterizing nature of Lightsabers it actually kept him ALIVE LONGER than if maul had stabbed him the way he did with a long sword. the reason being that the area he was stabbed meant it cut through both his spine and the AORTA. the Aorta is the largest Artery in the body. its is HUGE and it is meant to carry blood all the way done to the lower ends of your body so a lot of blood flows through it and it is directly connected to the heart. cuz that and you will bleed out SUPER FAST. the lightsaber however cauterized it so he didn't bleed out. and yet despite that the aorta is so critical to the body that despite being cauterized what happened to is still devestating and had his spinal cord not been severed as well he probably would have died in a lot of pain. Maul was not messing around. he wanted qui gon dead and he got what he wanted. Maul was bisected in two a few minutes later and survived. Simply hitting someone with a lightsaber has never been fatal in star wars. using a lightsaber in a lethal manner like chopping off heads or injuring vital organs will always be lethal. being stabbed in a place that isn't even generally fatal in the world world isn't gonna do much to a force user with access to medical care in the star wars universe where all they have to do in dunk you in bacta tank for a while to heal most wounds liek they were never there. The reason obiwan said that Lightsabers were an elegant weapon is because they almost seem to prevent someone from dying when injured unless that is what you actually wanted them to die. it literally eliminates the two most likely causes of death blood loss and infection. so if you want to kill someone you target vital areas, otherwise you can just stab them in nonvital areas or chop of an arm or a leg.
They apparently didn't convey Sabine's issue well enough for skipping the speech. She didn't bite cuz because she didn't want to follow the rules not if you remember Ryder says this is too honor heroes who liberated lothal and and especially to Ezra who sacrificed himself to save the planet. She didn't want to be celebrated because to her that day was the day she lost someone who was like brother( out if you are a shipper a boyfriend). This is a day of sadness/ mourning for her. She came paid her respects to Ezra and just wanted to go home. To Her house which used to be his. A lot of that is admittedly hard to convey. Some if it you have to piece together from that hera, Ryder, and Ezra himself say. Also she likely carries a lot of guilt she covered for him which let him carry it good plan which she didn't know included him sacrificing himself for everyone. She almost certainly didn't want to be included in the ceremony and ryder probably wouldn't listen to her protests. She she left as soon as she could. The reason she took the starmap is also similarly nuanced only this time it's based on new information we don't fully have just yet. But it seems Ahsoka asked her to be her padawan and then after she got invested in the idea she dumped her. They're is a lot of tension between them now. It's easy for everyone to see. But they came to her because they needed to crack the map which is her specialty. But she couldn't work with a clear her near the person that dropped her in the ship they used to live together in. So she went home where she had equipment that might help her figure it out. Furthermore Ahsoka could have found out where she would go very quickly. But despite being angry that she didn't listen Ahsoka still obviously trusted her to do the job she gave her. Ahsoka also felt the tension between them and knew that she was the one to walk away. She probably knows why Sabine didn't stay and so choose to wait there until same cracked the map ... Which she did.
new viewers who i have watched react to the show seem to take the thrawn ezra thing in stride. i imagine they assume the show will explain it all later. i'm guessing we will either get a flashback to that final moment when it happens or it will slowly be explained as we go along. but the original trilogy dumped a lot of information on people without any context for it that we either understand by the end or we didn't until the prequels came out. that lack of knowledge didn't diminish the story of the original trilogy. george lucas said the theme of the first 3 movies was the redemption of anakin skywalker. the only problem is we didn't even know who anakin was much less why he needed to be redeemed aside from teh fact that he became darth vader and was evil. years later we got the prequels and learned more about him and then years after that we got the clone wars and learned even more about him. but none of that was known to people who watched a new hope in 1977

Going with Ezra wouldve made her feel better on the inside but knowing Ahsoka has her back, she returns the favor and ensures the Master has her padawan watching her back no matter how dire, as it historically always is in the dynamic, choosing to guide now rather than abandon her apprentice when she goes through a struggle, no longer so closed up and questioning everything irrationally, and instead building a relationship of assurance to build trust which would've prevented all this in the first place, even if it occurred just after leaving Lothal.
