What treasures in that museum! I’d love to see an episode that provides an in-depth look and discussion of some of their incredible pieces. The brief glimpses in this video made me want to see and know more.
    Another wonderful episode, Doris.

The advice on freezing/thawing/refreezing is so clever! I have to confess, I once found an insanely gorgeous vintage designer label couture cocktail dress at the "bins" in Queens, but when I got home and held it up the fabric literally disintegrated between my fingers! Every time I touched it an embellishment fell off, and it was leaving a trail of black powder on the floor and on everything it touched! I was 23 and knew nothing about antique garments, and I was so paranoid that the disintegration was caused by some kind of bug or mold that might spread around my little apartment and ruin my clothes and my roommate's stuff, and I felt so ashamed of spending even the $3 or so on something unwearable, so I stupidly just put it in my apartment building's trash tied up tight! Please forgive me! I knew not what I did!!

I have three antique umbrellas, and I've always kept them hanging on my hall tree. A few months ago I opened one up to show someone, and it was all dry rotted. I'm still sad about it.

Silverfish can't get through nylon netting. I bought many yards of it at my local fabric store to line the drawers where I store my vintage clothes. Also it's very cheap!

This is a great segment, Doris. Kevin Jones is a treasure. I do have a few heirloom items and have them in similar boxes with the acid-free tissue. But a hand-embroidered cotton blouse c. 1870 developed those yellowish age spots.

As I am learning many things from you Doris, it would be interesting to know, how and where did you get all your knowledges about fashion history, vintage and antique designers and brands, and of course, managing this business. Maybe you can recommend some courses, books, etc. That would be very interesting. Thanx to all your team and I wish you an amazing 2022.

Iv got an Amy winehouse enable. I’m scared. Iv left it how it is seemingly folded in acid free tissue paper in some kind of clear plastic sleeves or bags. Inside a cardboard box. Should I change the storage? Can I wear it? I mean I probably can never wear it if I should be using gloves to even touch it. I don’t know what to do. Should I wear gloves? I think it’s just cotton or polyester but Iv never opened it so...
I want to put it on and pretend to be her and sing tears dry and feel special lol
