      Great board overall. However the diffuser is a weird one. If only you guys can provide updated diffusers in the future which are shorter, around half height of the current ones that would be great. Or even just flat blanks would be nice.

    This board is so handsome, I wish someone would work out a layout though that doesn't have right shift on the wrong side of the arrows like that.
    Also thank you for contributing to The Key Source! Excited for future issues.

      Cidoo ABM066 has the arrow cluster to the right of the right shift, but that shifts the layout a bit wider as a result. However they've added a screen and knob on top of it to balance it out. It's my daily driver at work and I like it a lot.

    Any day that a new Charo video comes out is a good day. I was particularly excited to see you were covering this one though. Having gone down the ergo rabbit hole out of necessity due to carpel tunnel and other RSI, I am glad that there is a more mainstream budget offering for those that can't commit to a split ergo. I can't justify buying it myself so I will just live vicariously through those that do and watch from afar while typing on my little 36 key split. lol Thanks for another awesome video with a little history lesson at the start, those are my favorite.

    0:29 Before I saw this video, I just happened to see a patent from 1964 (IBM British Patent 1,016,993) for a keyboard with pretty much all of the ergonomic features: dactyl-like keywells, tenting, columnar stagger and splay, and a split design.

    forgive me, but I’m mostly distracted by how great those Gateron Type S switches sounded in this build (and I think at least one other build you’ve featured)! Up for sharing your thoughts on those switches vs. a common reference point (say MX blacks maybe)? Really enjoyed the content and historical background!!

    • @Charo.mp4
      @Charo.mp4  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a soft spot for good Gateron switches - definitely one to try if you like a slightly higher pitched sounding switch! They come pre-lubed but my batch definitely had some switches that required a bit of TLC to get them perfect

      @@Charo.mp4awesome, thank you very much! I pretty much spring swap / hand lube all my switches since I’m picky about spring weight. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts! Have had my fair share of gateron switches through the years (KS-3 yellows, box black ink, cream sodas, and CJs), and liked all of them except the box black inks (too muted for my taste).

    It’s interesting to see the hate for those LED’s in the middle. The Matrix Faukwa had the same thing and for the most part it looked like people didn’t mind or even liked their implementation of it. It’s tasteful if you use it with the right colors I think? But I guess ya can’t win everyone over.

    My goodness... why did they insist on unnecessarily occupying space with LEDs? This board, by all accounts, would've been a must-have. But, I'll admit -- the LEDs have put a damper on that for me.
