I just watched the Miley Cyrus and Kelly Clarkson version before watching this. Please, allow me an analogy... Miley looks at the Mona Lisa and says "You are beautiful, but..." And paints her with red lipstick. Kelly looks at the Mona Lisa and says "You are beautiful, but..." and botox's her lips. The Running Mates look at the Mona Lisa and says "You are beautiful!", and paints her how she is. You guys get that this song is beautiful in its subtleties, and did a great job with it!
Sometimes I wish I had never heard this song, the original, by Mazzy Star but then again I would've deprived myself from something beautiful n profound. This version is almost as fantastic as Mazzy's, great job. Glad I came across your channel, new subscriber now
This is such a beautiful atmospheric song, very simple, almost entirely I V VI, repetitive melody, but it's so haunting, and matches the lyrics of unrequited love. You capture that, and add to the original that low harmony that makes it fuller. You should consider recording this (adding the slide guitar); it really suits you well.
