YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS! One of my favorite dubs I never, ever get tired of at all. I still blast this immense, epic and unforgettable classic in my car. Even the thugs and gangbangers were dancin to it lol.

I used to play this dub version when I would get ready for the clubs on the weekend. You seldom heard this played in the clubs and it took me a long time to find this record in SF Bay Area.
We used to go to this membership only late nite club after going to another club before because the rule was you went to this club after 2 am. and that’s when all the other clubs closed and everyone head to this club.
At this club, they played the best music in SF. But around 3 to 4 am. the dj pulled out the best music bc the dj no longer had to cater to the main crowd and playing for the serious dancers. By that time, about 75% of the crows left and went home. That’s when the dancer took back the dancerfloor and able to seriously dance without the crowds. Man, if you were a dancer, no crowd and the best u set ground music, it was like dancing in heaven with the best sound system.
Then after being satisfied dancing for about 4 hours, you got out your sunglasses bc it was like 7 in the morning. We went home and tested for a few hours and on Sunday, headed out to another club. Those were the best times in SF and seemed like the whole SF Bay Area was out partying on the weekends. Oh and of course when they played this song at this club about 5 times, you know with or without a big crowd, I was dancing my ass off to this song and wished it never ended.

It’s like nothing like now and it’s like a hollow shell of what it was like in the 80’s and 90’s in SF.
I was just with a native SF that’s 53 now and he was saying what do the kid do now. Back then music and going clubbing every weekend was everything and having the best club underground music to play in the car. Oh and many of us when we were in our 20’s and 30’s, fixing up our ride was also something many of us were passionate about.
So my respond to my friend was I think the kids shopped online and on social media. Haha! Back then the kids mostly didn’t have money but still found ways to have fun. So music and clubbing was a big thing for us and through that came djing and that whole sub culture that the adults didn’t know much about, well older folks. So we were able to claim this whole lifestyle as ours.
I wish there was a Time Machine to show the youth bc explaining it don’t do it justice. So the youth of that era, ruled the nights in the city,

Also, everything especially seem so new back then. Where someone younger trying to look back don’t have that sensation bc it’s all been done. Imagine if you never saw someone break facing and saw for the first time and non of your friends knew about. So it was a time for legendary trends starting and you watched it grow and grow. New trends and things were firing off everyday and everyone trying to make a mark and prove to mainstream this was here to stay.
So you have to thank that generation bc it was not easy to convince ppl. back then and if you were different and like something others were not exposed to, you got easily categorized as the weird guy or gay. So bc of that era, now ppl. can dye their hair whatever color, wear used clothes, listen to whatever music and pretty much do whatever you like and want. We pushed the boundaries.
If you look at old movies, that was the typical standard in America and we were the ppl. that challenged it and changed it. Back then you would have to hide listening to this music bc many thought it was bubble gum and had no substance. So we push and pushed and made it acceptable. Look at Madonna, she sang freestyle and now a music icon. But back then her music was only played in the clubs and not on the radio until she became more popular.
