    Kiarostami is the highest point in artistry that cinema has to offer. - Martin Scorsese / 100% agree.

      you didn’t have to bring up martin scorsese to make that point that statement stands on its own also unrelated but martin scorsese is lowkey not even that great

      @@rohoznikbutcher4330 I mean, Scorsese highkey is that great, and if you don't think so then you're obviously missing something which is ironic because you seem to think you know something nobody else does, and it's the opposite. You should at the very least respect the work he has done to raise awareness and restore foreign films and introduce them to American audiences.

      @Pontificate 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kamaal_i I’ve only seen taste of cherry, but that literally makes no sense. Nothing other than the ending had anything to do with that. It’s literally just a blanket excuse for anything you do wrong. If you aren’t making a movie about that than putting it in is unfocused and messy.

    Beautiful. The only problem I have with this trailer is Scorsese's quote. It's completely out of place here. His cinema has nothing to do with Kiarostami's art and we do not him to validate what we already know. I understand that it's common practice to fill trailers with quotes by white/male US filmmakers and critics to make non-US filmmakers more appealing to US audiences. But, Kiarostami? really? He's too big for that.

      Point taken but Scorsese truly loved the man and was a friend of Kiarostami. In a TH-cam video he talks about the time when Kiarostami showed him this very film on his computer in France. His quote is justified because he knew the man and cared for his work. It's not some random quote given solely for promotion.

      Why do you have to make this about race? There’s absolutely no need for that. Cinema is a universal language and it isn’t meant to divide race but to unite the reality of life itself.

    • @pixelbasedlifeforms
      @pixelbasedlifeforms 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. Kiarostami doesn't really need an approval from Scorsese. They do totally different things.
