I love how Zooble is so sweet and caring for Gangle, they definitely have a soft spot for her. The bond they have is adorable, they’re almost like siblings. Their wholesome interactions and concern for each other warmed my heart.❤
@@kristianbanks6450 They DO live rent free in my head since he said them. That episode launched him to the second place on my favorite character list after Ragatha.
13:23 This is a reference to the movie Halloween 3, where a TV commercial, created by an evil businessman who practiced witchcraft, was used to trigger a mass murder of innocent children on Halloween night. Basically, any child who watched the commercial, while wearing one of the mass-produced Halloween masks made by the company, would die.
Funnily enough, there's extra dialogue at the beginning where Jax says that if he DID legitimately mean to do that to Gangle, he wouldn't try to deny it and would, in fact, be proud of it. Also, Jax was closing his eyes when he swung the bat, so I actually do believe him when he said it was an accident... not that he actually apologized for it either way, the jerk. Jax bringing up Pomni getting a unicorn horn and Pomni saying "Well it's possible" to Gangle saying she'd look good with one is a reference to a series of comics Gooseworx made between the pilot and second episode of this series. In them, Pomni has her "iconic unicorn horn" and "Well it's possible" is her catchphrase. They're... very strange, and honestly better represent Gooseworx's weird sense of humor better than the show does, in my opinion. 1:45 - "The Curse of the Violent, Psychopath Butcher"... Bob Velseb? FYI, that pink stuff that got in Ragatha's eye wasn't "soap", it was the Stupid Sauce that one mannequin wanted to make sure they remembered for their Stupid Burger. It basically made Ragatha high throughout the entire episode (or I guess "act stupid" since it's Stupid Sauce), which I think is a unique set-up, since it basically allows her to speak her mind unfiltered rather than constantly trying to be nice all the time... Also, according to several people who worked in fast food who watched this episode, there was ALWAYS someone who came to work high, apparently. Also, this is just speculation on my part, but I don't think it was Gangle who submitted that request to have an adventure where they work in fast food. I feel like they would have acknowledged that it was their suggestion instead of just bring all "yeah, that sounds pretty normal" when Caine brings it up. Also, her saying "I guess I could give it a swing" feels like a weird thing to say if it was her idea, not to mention if she DID work as a shift manager previously, then given her obvious projection of her lost dream of being a manga-inspired webcomic artist in favor of working in fast food during the training video, not to mention what Gangle goes through in this episode, it feels like a rather bad experience that Gangle probably wouldn't want to revisit. But, again, that's just speculation on my part. 14:29 - What Ragatha said there is a direct quote from Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure, specifically from the song "I'm No Girl's Toy," in case you were wondering. There's basically a reference to that movie in every episode. Finally I'll add that yeah, Gangle's more "chipper" attitude this episode does come across as annoying and weird, though I think that has a lot to do with how Gangle's just a very depressed person in general and isn't particularly good at faking that she's actually happy. That, and she could just be trying to motivate people with her forced positivity, even though it's not having the intended effect. What's interesting to me, though, is how she gets all weird and manic around Pomni and Jax when she tries to get them to get to work, when it comes to Ragatha, she's a lot more gentle, and actually tries to help her out... until she tells Gangle she thinks she's annoying when she's wearing her happy mask. With Pomni indirectly undermining Gangle's role as manager, disrespect can be implied, though at least Pomni makes it up later in the episode, and Jax... well, he's a jerk, and while what he says clearly affected Gangle, it's not like we expected otherwise from the guy. But Ragatha? We just saw her earlier in the episode trying to teach her how to play baseball and being nice to hear, so to have her basically tell Gangle that she's annoying when she's happy, well, it's no wonder she fell into such a depressive state after that. In fact, I think this might be the impetus that goes into the fifth episode, which is supposed to focus on Ragatha, since we end up getting some revealing insights about her this episode as well, like her desire to be loved or liked, even by someone she hates like Jax.
I work at McDonald's as the Drive-Thru person. AND IT DRIVES ME INSANE. I have to make coffees, and sh-t. AND I BARELY GET HALP. I WANT TO SCREAM LIKE GANGLE SO I DO IT WHEN I GET THE CHANCE AT HOME IN MY PILLOW.
@@jaxolon333 that makes me wonder... Caine said in the pilot that he can't control the minds of the humans. But that HAS to be a lie right? He created a digital sauce that got Ragatha drunk, that clearly affected her mind, also when the Angel hipnotized Kinger in episode 3 (although that could have been because of him remembering his wife)
@@gageunruh3574 it is immersion breaking tho, specially when it does matter cuz the show in the episode 1 left crumbs of some mystery plot, but no show is perfect ig
@CDsNoots gooseworks has said the show isn't going for some big mystery or heavy lore and is more so just a character driven show with each episode being about a different member of the cast.
i dont think that smile without the mask at the ending was a good thing i kind of have some sort of theory: also when gangle threw away the mask, she was experiencing a manic episode and nearly had derealization, she was going insane!
From the way Gangle worded it, it definitely felt like an (un)intentional act made in depressive-ecstasy. "Cracked under the pressure," for sure meant she could not take it any more after a *day* of reliving her old life.
Jax being dragged for employee reevaluation is legitimately reminiscent of that one scene in Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, I cannot make this up.
The “reevaluation” scene is a reference to the Halloween 3 movie with the masks n stuff
Also a bit of a mix of A Clockwork Orange and Halloween III: Season of the Witch.

And Pomni is taking Kinger's words to heart. I think that small act of kindness saved Gangle from Abstracting.
@ exactly!❤️😊

I've seen a few people not make that (what I thought was obvious) connection.

When they brought Gummigo back, I got serious PTSD…
Just put the fries in the bag Jax 💀

Apparently the stupid sauce for the burger actually makes you stupid
According to the Karen NPC who ordered it.

How ragata became as drunk
she accidentally got stupid sauce in her eye when the mannequin asked for the stupid burger

Jax' Box
I feel like an asshole for cackling at the thumbnail LOL
