I find it funny that most people forget that marriage in Fire Emblem really started with Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy war. In that game, it is literally mandatory that you marry people together otherwise when Sigurd's son, Seliph, takes over the story, all the traits from his father's comrades carry over to help him out on his own quest. In Awakening this theme is present, but I don't feel it's as urgent as it is in Genealogy of the Holy war. That's just me tho.
Of course it's not as urgent, in Awakening you can still use the parents like it's business as usual, in Genealogy you lose your units and are forced to make do with whatever pairing and inventory management choices (if you even paired anyone at all) you made in the first half. Even when you do know that after a certain point you'll permanently lose your current army and prepare for it, if you screw up in some way you'll still feel the repercussions when you play the second gen, while in Awakening if you fuck up the parent pairings and the skill inheritance you can just continue using the parent. You're right that people usually don't remember that the marriage thing started back then, but I think that's partly because Genealogy is old and doesn't have an official western release, while Awakening is a newer entry that most current Fire Emblem fans have played at least once. And partly because of the fact that despite both mechanics being about marrying off characters and producing children, in Awakening (and Fates) it feels more about shipping and having op child units as a fun new toy to play with, while in FE4 it feels more about necessity, since they're the only units you'll get for half the story. Even with the one character you can keep, you might ship Finn with someone and want to pair them up, but if you know how things are gonna go you might want to keep him single to preserve his inventory for the next stretch of the game since it could really help you out in the beginning.
I'm not sure if "forgot" is the right word, since Genealogy is one of the more obscure entries as a Japan-only game. A lot of the more casual fans probably aren't familiar with it.
Dang, I was really hoping for ricken and Henry's support, it showed that the enemy soldiers were still human, it was such a standout support in awakening as it reflects on the entire game and really strengthens Henry as a character

Blazing Knight,your list was really good. It made me realise that there are many,but many good supports in the series. Emotional ones,Badass ones,In-Depth Ones and even Funny Ones. The latter is probably my favourite,just take a look at all Sain's supports and Canas/Bartre. Those are pure gold! Amelia/Duessel is also a amazing one,which covers Amelia's backstory very well. Ephraim/Tana is very cute from standart point of view. There are lots of amazing supporting conversarions!

Also the light novels released for FE7 used Eliwood x Ninian, Hector x Florina (who i think acts more like Lilina than any of her other mothers although I'll admit Lilina looks a bit like Lyn although that might just be the fringe of her hair) and Rath x Lyn although they could be viewed as non-canon. I also feel Lyn would sooner return to Sacae then stay a noble so for me Rath or Kent (or Florina I guess) make more sense for Lyn pairings over Eliwood and Hector in my opinion.
+Gold Kenway I agree they are hilarious but I always viewed them as platonic, tad too disfunctional to be a couple in my opinion (and I'll admit one guy on Serenes Forest absolutely ruined the pairing for me by wishing death on poor Florina and bashing Rath and Sue any chance he got, disregarding anyone who didn't ship Hector with Lyn claiming Florina wasn't good enough for Hector and Rath wasn't good enough for Lyn) which is why I would have liked unlimited supports in FE7 cause Lyn could marry Rath or Kent while also being BFFs with Hector and Eliwood (and Florina). Eliwood can marry Ninian and still be Hector's BrOTP. It's even worse in FE8 like why can't Eirika marry Seth AND help her brother restore Renais.

When I first Fire Emblem PoR I just loved both Ilyana and Zihark individually, they were just my favorite units in the overall series. So simply just loving them on their own just makes me a sucker for their support conversations. Also don't get me started on that one bit of dialouge from RD.

Impressive how much thought you put into these Supports, and your reasonings for why each made the list here. I might not be in agreement with you over certain ones and the why of it, but that too is OK - we have different opinions, and reasons, for why we like certain Supports and would put them on our own lists... Though I must say, I'm hugely impressed that of all of them, the #1 happened to be the only one which was both same-sex AND absolutely, purely platonic (both Ike/Soren and Raven/Lucius being both popular 'ships, and having as close to canon backing as can get with their shared endings); because there's such substantial character growth for both Jill and Lethe, though, it does make sense, more than most if not all interactions thanks to the theme of understanding and overcoming prejudices. :) Heh... your feelings about Ilyana/Zihark not being able to continue their Supports in RD are something I can relate to, not just with Supports in games (that I've both played and not gotten to play) that can't go further than A-Support, but as a whole when it comes to people who you'd think should be able to Support anyway.. Closest I can come up with are Mist/Rolf (why, IS, did you make Boyd her ONLY romantic option?! Stupid RD having stunted Supports...) and Ike/Mia (if there was ANY girl he could've Supported with proper, IMHO it would've been Mia and not Elincia as everyone argues - it's not that I don't get Ike/Soren or are at ALL against it, in fact ANYTHING to lay waste to damned Priam's existence, but for my part I really read Ike as bisexual, and with him and Mia both being sword-nuts who share a mutual respect it would've been cute in its own way...) Of course, sometimes we agree too - I certainly back Gerik/Tethys more than Gerik/Marisa - but OTOH that might be from different debates (I like Seth with Natasha, Joshua/Marisa, and when it comes to Eirika it kinda depends based on if I put Vanessa with Innes or Forde; etc.) Some of your pronunciations, though... really, I can get Soren being "so-REN" (as opposed to "SOAR-un", which I think is the correct), but how did you get Priscilla as "Priss-ILL-ika" (it's "Pri-SILL-ah" - the "s" and "c" make a single sound, mate -_-). And, again, Taguel is "TAH-goo-ELLE" rather than "tah-GOOL" (note that Panne says it in battle dialogue if you listen, so there's less excuse for it). As a side... when you play "Fates", I have a list for you to make (in the likely VERY DISTANT future) - "Top 10 Child Characters in Fates". Without any spoiling, there are 21 Children who are recruitable in "Fates" (as opposed to 13 in "Awakening"), with 5 who aren't Route-exclusive, 8 others each exclusive to the Hoshido and Nohr routes, and in the Third Route all 21 are recruitable... Or, failing that, just a "Top 10/15 Children List" in general, since you'll have a bigger range of selection to choose from between both "Fates" and "Awakening" (and it makes more sense than just doing a Top 10 for the "Awakening" kids, since there's some we already know would make the cut and not much else to choose from...)
I enjoyed watching this video quite a bit! There was quite a diverse range of pairings; a couple from each of the games, not all of which were romantic, and quite a few that helped to actually develop the setting (though the more simple comedy/heartwarming stuff is also appreciated). I try my best to fill in the Support Logs whenever I get a good chance to, and while I've already stumbled across a few of these pairings, I might go for the other ones recommended next time I get a chance to play those games...Oh, and I also really, really like the pair of Ike/Soren. So I was glad to see it on the list. Thank you for making this video, and best of luck to you when the next Fire Emblem games are released soon!

Believe it or not, your "special dance" assumption is probably more accurate than you'd think. It's pretty much a running gag with Dancers starting with a conversation in FE4 between the perverted Knight and the "eccentric" dancer (so you can pretty much guess the rest)

+Yap yongliang Thanks :) I'm not to sure about fire emblem weapons because the only weapons that really stand out are the legendary weapons (e.g. Falchion and Ragnell), though I reckon I could make a list excluding those and focus on weapons like Brave weapons, killer weapons, certain magic weapons etc. So I'm not 100% atm but i'll definitly consider it.

From what I remember from what I saw on the wiki Amelia can find her mother through a certain support or it might have been no support which is kinda sad cause it only happens if you get a certain one.
Well Roy's quarter dragon cause if Nargel is Ninain father(as hinted by the end picture/gaiden chapter)this means that Ninain is half ice dragon and human, and Roy can be paired up with Sophia who is half dragon does this mean there child will be half or quarter dragon. and reasons Roy can't be half dragon is cause he can't use dragon stone as you have to be full or half dragon.
Michael Anstett The only Guy support I did was Guy and Priscilla. I had the Oswin/Priscilla support and that was the first GBA A support I got, so I was so stunned as how good is was. Then I read Priscilla/Guy...Let's just say that it let me down.

Some of my favorite supports are Robin x Lissa (Absolutely hilarious and adorable) Stahl x Sully (You learn more about Sully's struggles and they form a great bond) Ricken x Maribelle (Absolutely adorable) Inigo x Female Morgan (Again, hilarious and adorable, and cheating on Morgan isn't even mentioned in the S) Corrin x Saizo (The buildup to their friendship/romance is done very well. In the S, Saizo actually goes into detail on how and why he fell for her.) Percy x Ophelia (The Owain x Cynthia of Fates, plus the S is adorable) Arthur x Elise (Builds on Elise's bond with Xander and what Arthur is willing to go through for her) Selena x Keaton (The two tsunderes getting together, that's all I need to say.) Great list!
i consider ricken x maribelle canon, simply because of the fact that he saved her life during the chapter you recruit them and the S support seems believable. a shame it does not match the way i want to build up brady

old video i know but i recently started playin fire emblem blacing sword on wiiu virtual console, but i seem not to get how the whole support system in that game. i know that while you place units that are compatible beside each other gets you them but i do not get how do i activate the support coversations?
Once you gain enough support points by having units stand next to each, and you click on them it will come up with the option support, that's how you active them.
ok, the internet hasn't been much help, so I'm gonna ask you guys I'm still relatively new to Fire Emblem, I'm starting with the GBA games and I plan on eventually getting the console games...maybe, don't have a Wii or Wii U so Radiant Dawn might be out, and while I plan on getting a 3DS I don't have one yet so Awakening and Fates are gonna have to wait Got off track, anyways, how do you have support conversations in Fire Emblem Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones? I just have no idea, hell, I didn't even know they had support conversations until this guy mentioned them in one of his videos. I've tried searching on the internet on how to do them, but it surprisingly hasn't told me how to have them, only showed me the support conversations themselves
You just have to place units next to each other on the maps and eventually there support points will grow and they can support together, however only certain units can support together, and usually that number is very limited, plus they can only have 5 support conversations in total.
I remember back then when I would pair characters up based on their interaction with one another... Nowadays some people pair characters up just to get the strongest children characters in the game.

Glad to see a lot of my favorite supports on the list. I know they are really good if they make me cry. Definitely love Ike x Soren and Nino x Jaffar, though I have to think of Jaffar as being at most 16 or it starts to seem a bit creepy.

Well the best way for them to reach A support is to have the constantly be placed next each other in every map Ninian is available. The reason it takes a while is because all supports in the GBA games take a long time to unlock (heck Eliwood and Ninian are actually some of the quickest growing supports in the game), also thank you very much I'm glad you enjoy my content.
While not supports I feel Ike and Jills conversations through PoR are some of the best, the drama isn't forced and its really serious and heavy and done well to show what a war is like.

The latter is probably my favourite,just take a look at all Sain's supports and Canas/Bartre. Those are pure gold! Amelia/Duessel is also a amazing one,which covers Amelia's backstory very well. Ephraim/Tana is very cute from standart point of view. There are lots of amazing supporting conversarions!

Also the light novels released for FE7 used Eliwood x Ninian, Hector x Florina (who i think acts more like Lilina than any of her other mothers although I'll admit Lilina looks a bit like Lyn although that might just be the fringe of her hair) and Rath x Lyn although they could be viewed as non-canon. I also feel Lyn would sooner return to Sacae then stay a noble so for me Rath or Kent (or Florina I guess) make more sense for Lyn pairings over Eliwood and Hector in my opinion.

When I first Fire Emblem PoR I just loved both Ilyana and Zihark individually, they were just my favorite units in the overall series. So simply just loving them on their own just makes me a sucker for their support conversations. Also don't get me started on that one bit of dialouge from RD.

I would do a video like that at some point, but for now off the top of my head my favourite couples are Eliwood X Ninian, Xander x charlotte, Sumia x Robin, Erikia x Seth, Zihark x Ilyana, Jill x Haar, Ike x Soren, Isadora x Harken, Gilliam x Syrene, Ephriam x Tana, Geoffrey x Elinica, Joshua x Natasha, Franz x Amelia, Colm x Nemi, Nino x Jaffar, Raven x Lucius, Lyn x Hector, Tharja x Henry, Female Corrin x Kaze, Owain x Cynthia, honestly there are so many I can't list them all.
Also my problem when it comes to Fire Emblem, lol. And you, sir, have good taste in ships. Especially Female Corrin/Kaze, Owain/Cynthia, Ike/Soren, Sumia/Robin, Eliwood/Ninian and Xander/Charlotte.
Impressive how much thought you put into these Supports, and your reasonings for why each made the list here. I might not be in agreement with you over certain ones and the why of it, but that too is OK - we have different opinions, and reasons, for why we like certain Supports and would put them on our own lists... Though I must say, I'm hugely impressed that of all of them, the #1 happened to be the only one which was both same-sex AND absolutely, purely platonic (both Ike/Soren and Raven/Lucius being both popular 'ships, and having as close to canon backing as can get with their shared endings); because there's such substantial character growth for both Jill and Lethe, though, it does make sense, more than most if not all interactions thanks to the theme of understanding and overcoming prejudices. :)
Heh... your feelings about Ilyana/Zihark not being able to continue their Supports in RD are something I can relate to, not just with Supports in games (that I've both played and not gotten to play) that can't go further than A-Support, but as a whole when it comes to people who you'd think should be able to Support anyway.. Closest I can come up with are Mist/Rolf (why, IS, did you make Boyd her ONLY romantic option?! Stupid RD having stunted Supports...) and Ike/Mia (if there was ANY girl he could've Supported with proper, IMHO it would've been Mia and not Elincia as everyone argues - it's not that I don't get Ike/Soren or are at ALL against it, in fact ANYTHING to lay waste to damned Priam's existence, but for my part I really read Ike as bisexual, and with him and Mia both being sword-nuts who share a mutual respect it would've been cute in its own way...) Of course, sometimes we agree too - I certainly back Gerik/Tethys more than Gerik/Marisa - but OTOH that might be from different debates (I like Seth with Natasha, Joshua/Marisa, and when it comes to Eirika it kinda depends based on if I put Vanessa with Innes or Forde; etc.)
Some of your pronunciations, though... really, I can get Soren being "so-REN" (as opposed to "SOAR-un", which I think is the correct), but how did you get Priscilla as "Priss-ILL-ika" (it's "Pri-SILL-ah" - the "s" and "c" make a single sound, mate -_-). And, again, Taguel is "TAH-goo-ELLE" rather than "tah-GOOL" (note that Panne says it in battle dialogue if you listen, so there's less excuse for it).
As a side... when you play "Fates", I have a list for you to make (in the likely VERY DISTANT future) - "Top 10 Child Characters in Fates". Without any spoiling, there are 21 Children who are recruitable in "Fates" (as opposed to 13 in "Awakening"), with 5 who aren't Route-exclusive, 8 others each exclusive to the Hoshido and Nohr routes, and in the Third Route all 21 are recruitable... Or, failing that, just a "Top 10/15 Children List" in general, since you'll have a bigger range of selection to choose from between both "Fates" and "Awakening" (and it makes more sense than just doing a Top 10 for the "Awakening" kids, since there's some we already know would make the cut and not much else to choose from...)
I enjoyed watching this video quite a bit! There was quite a diverse range of pairings; a couple from each of the games, not all of which were romantic, and quite a few that helped to actually develop the setting (though the more simple comedy/heartwarming stuff is also appreciated). I try my best to fill in the Support Logs whenever I get a good chance to, and while I've already stumbled across a few of these pairings, I might go for the other ones recommended next time I get a chance to play those games...Oh, and I also really, really like the pair of Ike/Soren. So I was glad to see it on the list.

Believe it or not, your "special dance" assumption is probably more accurate than you'd think. It's pretty much a running gag with Dancers starting with a conversation in FE4 between the perverted Knight and the "eccentric" dancer (so you can pretty much guess the rest)

+Yap yongliang Thanks :) I'm not to sure about fire emblem weapons because the only weapons that really stand out are the legendary weapons (e.g. Falchion and Ragnell), though I reckon I could make a list excluding those and focus on weapons like Brave weapons, killer weapons, certain magic weapons etc. So I'm not 100% atm but i'll definitly consider it.

Well Roy's quarter dragon cause if Nargel is Ninain father(as hinted by the end picture/gaiden chapter)this means that Ninain is half ice dragon and human, and Roy can be paired up with Sophia who is half dragon does this mean there child will be half or quarter dragon. and reasons Roy can't be half dragon is cause he can't use dragon stone as you have to be full or half dragon.

old video i know but i recently started playin fire emblem blacing sword on wiiu virtual console, but i seem not to get how the whole support system in that game. i know that while you place units that are compatible beside each other gets you them but i do not get how do i activate the support coversations?
Once you gain enough support points by having units stand next to each, and you click on them it will come up with the option support, that's how you active them.

Got off track, anyways, how do you have support conversations in Fire Emblem Blazing Sword and Sacred Stones? I just have no idea, hell, I didn't even know they had support conversations until this guy mentioned them in one of his videos. I've tried searching on the internet on how to do them, but it surprisingly hasn't told me how to have them, only showed me the support conversations themselves
You just have to place units next to each other on the maps and eventually there support points will grow and they can support together, however only certain units can support together, and usually that number is very limited, plus they can only have 5 support conversations in total.

Well the best way for them to reach A support is to have the constantly be placed next each other in every map Ninian is available. The reason it takes a while is because all supports in the GBA games take a long time to unlock (heck Eliwood and Ninian are actually some of the quickest growing supports in the game), also thank you very much I'm glad you enjoy my content.

One of my favourite supports is the support between Forde and Kyle in FE8
This is literally the first time I've ever seen him without the mask
While not supports I feel Ike and Jills conversations through PoR are some of the best, the drama isn't forced and its really serious and heavy and done well to show what a war is like.
