LOVE this one!!! I petted my dog Jackson Browne the whole time I watched this video. He is about 16 now. He has helped me rehab 75 street stray and kill shelter dogs. 1 of the fosters is still here. She never got adopted. I have a new stray who came here in the summer. He is still a puppy pretty much so I'm still working with him. I will be so sad when Jackson passes on. I try to spend lots of time with him.

You're quite normal. Pets have so many features - they can't talk, they forget. You take out the garbage, and when you get back, they greet you like you went on a long safari. What's not to like?

Thank you for sharing this. The fact that anyone went out there to bury their pet shows how much they loved them. Animals, the bond with a pet... is so special and is unique than that with a person. They really are angels on earth. Thank you, Sarah.

Pets give us love and companionship, and because they have short lifespans, they help prepare us to handle grief when we lose a person we love. Pets rock!

I love the, ‘he could’ve been some big thug by day, some jerk, swaggering about town, running red lights… but when he got home… to little Vanilla Woofer, he was just a big teddy bear’. You kill me, I swear, lol

    Still have this mug, Lucky,
He lived on my porch for years,
I made him a winter shelter and last year his age and the cold Ohio winters were taking their toll on him. Now he's living inside with Jake and Sam. The same two dogs that would chase him around the yard. Yeah, like cats and dogs.
But now they fight over who sleeps next to him. Pets are a constant reminder of acceptance and unfaltering love.

Amazing how the dry climate of the desert preserves the old wooden markers. Back here in the East that wood would have been long gone. I put a marker in my yard for my last dog and even painted it and had to replace it in 6 years.

Great video Sarah!! When I was 9 yo (1964) had a turtle that died. I spent days with my dads chisel and hammer carving its name (speedy) in a piece of flagstone while crying most of the time. It stood for many years in the backyard. Yes, we love our critters!! Thanks for the vid. Love your work Wonderhussy....

A guy started the cemetery a long time ago he was making money and burying pets on what was public land. They try to discourage it, because they don't maintain it and don't have any control over the burials, but pets are still buried there.

4:35 My name is Anthony Weiner. I remember a family trip in the spring of '66
when my family went to Las Vegas and visited my mother's brother "The Dentist".
One afternoon while the grownups were in the house playing canasta, I was behind
the tool shed playing doctor when Martini bit me.
My parents never did talk about Martini after that. Always wondered what happened?
Even after my latest release, just the thought of a schnauzer's warm wet mouth causes
me a simultaneous degree of newfound excitement and painful regret.
I do thank you for this video Wonderhussey though. It has given me a degree of closure.
    RIP Martini.

Some neighbors think I'm a bit strange for burying my pets with small grave markers. Each one brought much happiness into my life, and I want to remember them fondly.
Iris (the Meerschweinchen in my avatar) has a slightly larger marker, as she was my best little buddy ever, and my fondest pet memories are of her. That's also why she is my avatar picture. :-)

16:40 . Veteran (saying vet here would be confusing) cemeteries use front/back. The vet's name of course goes on the front, and a qualifying non military spouse can be buried in the same grave, but their name appears on the back side of the cross. My non military aunt was buried with her husband who was in the army. His name is front side and her's backside. I didn't know that rule at first and was wondering why I didn't see her name under his until I found out it was on the other side.

We moved, the kid wanted to take one with us. So we dug 'her' up and buried it here. Love the kids. That hole reminded me lol. Now we bury them in our FL back yard. An older neighbor had a pet cemetery of his own. Dozens of crosses. I just saw a (people) grave yard where they did bury spouses head to head and used the back of the headstone for him or her. It would be a perfect spot to hide somebody! Just think of somebody walked up on you while you were burying them you could just say you were burying your pet. That's probably why they don't let you do it anymore.

Great video WH! A Pet’s love for their people is unconditional! The grave at the beginning penny pawn might have been Pommy a Pomeranian?

Sarah is so pretty with her natural face. She actually is a very lovely petite Wonderhussy lady! I would love to accompany and follow her around on her adventures. Although living out of my car, mining shacks or motels and eating survival and restaurant meals would get to me after a while. So would the heat of the desert.

I'm sorry, but I laughed when you said Stubby ran out of the room. I just saw the dog door in my mind..
